Question HELP Sensor problem

Help Me, I am at a loss here. I got the code for a bad O2 Sensor bank 1, so I get one and replace it. After clearing the code, I drive for about 15 minutes then my light comes back on. I go back to the parts store and the scan said slow input (something to that affect). So i drive for a little while no change, except instead of slow input I get failure in the circuit O2 sensor defective. I didn't have time to change it again(in the middle of moving). Well today I changed it again(figured maybe I got a bad one from the manufacturer). This time I took off the pwr cable to the batt and let it sit and then after hooking it all back up I turned the truck on for about 20 min. turned it off let it sit for about 1hr, then had to drive it about 30 miles. I made one stop and was going to pick up some stuff, right before I got to where I was going it came back on. So once again, I go to the parts store and I get the code P0135. I am not sure where to go from here. the bank 1 sensor is the sensor on the drivers side on the manifold, right? If any body can help me that would be greatly appreciated. My truck is a 98 F-150 w/ 5.4 Thanks, Scotty

A code P0135 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

O2 Heater element resistance is high
Internal short or open in the heater element
O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
open or short to ground in the wiring harness
Possible SolutionsRepair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)

make sure you had it connected all the way. I've had that happen. Check the connection.

Bank one is where the number one piston resides - on the passenger side.

I'd recommend replacing O2 sensors in pairs, regardless of the 'bank'... In other words, do BOTH upper, even if only one is triggering the code or BOTH lower if only one triggers the code....

As mentioned above. Bank 1 is the passenger side. Cylinders 1,2,3,4 are passenger side. 5,6,7,8 are drivers side.

Well I replaced the other sensor today, the right bank 1. I guess you can't trust what everyone says even if they work in the parts store. Now I know to do some more research before I got changing parts.
