sizzling sound

my truck for some reason recently started to make a sizzling sound while the vehicle is off, after it has been driven..i am even able to hear it from about 20 feet away. this concerns me. any ideas on what could be causing the sound? is something burning?

could be. but it also "pops" i guess you could say. for instance, it'll sizzle for a couple seconds then it sounds like something is popping underneath the truck

Does it sound like bacon being fried or like boiling water?

it may just be something as simple as the water from your a/c draining onto your exhaust pipe. or its just the motor cooling down. how long have you had the truck and what year is it.

it sounds like bacon frying. the truck is a 2003 supercrew 4.6L and i've had it for about a year and half. just turned over 70K miles.

A/C Water

When my truck was new it would do it and it ended up being A/C water leaking where it wasnt supposed to.

Try and drive it with no A/C and see if it still does it.

I don't remember exactly when or why but it stopped. Hasn't done it at all this summer. I did have a couple of drips on the passenger side under the glove box and when I was in for maintenance they fixed something but I cant remember.
I just realized it doesn't do it anymore when I saw this post.
