flush service and filter made a difference in mine

also have the camber checked and lighten up your load if you are carrying around the kitchen sink, lose it

The only gas I will use here in Central NY, is Valero.
I am anti-Mobil (too much profit's every quarter)
Anti Citgo, (Chavez is a communist Dictator)
Closest Sunoco is 15 miles away.
Hess is 25 miles away.

I just checked my mileage today and it was 14.2 MPG's and that is driving in hilly country region. Very little highway miles per tankful (30-70 per week).

My Mom only uses Valero as well.

My truck (1998 F150 5.4V8) is well maintained and up to date.

I just had my Tranny flush done yesterday at the Dealership. I can feel the differance in my driving already. Smoother gear changing etc.
Ouch tho, 17 Qts of fluid, but well worth it.

Your station probably uses ethanol now.

Have you recently got a exhaust system too? Could be giving it more gas on the take off than necessary because you will want to hear it.

Clean your intake filter much? Any more modifications?

Also, there was a guy on here with the same issue, and it turned out to be a leaky gas tank, rusted through under the mounting strap.Have a look and see if your tank is wet with a slow leak.

I don't have a gas leak---the gas milege on the instrament panel used to read 19MPG at crusing speed and around 15 in town no I can't get 16 at crusing speed and I am lucky getting 14 around town---The seloniod was out on the 4x4 and they replaced it and I'm getting better gas milege but not like I was before--I didn't change the exhaust system so I'm still at a loss as to the drop in Gas milege

Could be a sticky brake caliper. That happened to mine and dropped my mileage 2-3 miles per gallon.
