F150 vs Tundra

Just thought I would share this story with you guys thought you might like it. I live in southern Utah and this weekend we went to the sand dunes about 45 min from my house. Anyway my buddy has a 2007 f150 super crew with the 5.4 leveled with 33's and a 3inch cat back and his new brother in law just bought a 2007 tundra crew max 5.7 leveled with 33's. Now empty the tundra beats the F150 pretty bad but coming home from the dunes was a different story. They both had about the same weight 2 dirt bikes in the bed and 3 sport quads on a trailer. There is a hill called black ridge that everyone brags about how fast they can pull and after hearing his brother in law brag about that tundra all day they decided to race up the ridge and the F150 whooped that tundra's A$$ the 150 pulled the ridge at 75mph and really didn't work to hard and the tundra couldnt pull it over 65 and was redlined the whole way up the hill WTF I thought these tundras were supposed to run circles around the F150 empty and pulling??? I was not impressed at all!!!! You can keep thoes tundras for the soccer moms IMO

tundras are the best towing in its class though... havent you guys seen the commercial? I think the tundras look sick though... they would easily easily beat that f150 in a drag race..

they have 3 under drive gears, and 4.30:1 differential, means they dont have much torque past 60

Gears do play alot into it...

If the Ford had 3.73's and the Tundra had 4.30's there is no doubt the Ford would win going up the hill. Hook em together and pull and see who is laughing then....

I've always said, "it takes a Ford to beat a Ford" in any way shape or form. This story was probably best here where people who know stuff can see and not dumb trolls who live in the GD area, notice wantsahemi aint here, he wouldn't know an engine from his old ladies caboose.

Toyota Tundra = Gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Man...yall have no simpathy. Take a Tundra with 3.73's and an F150 with 3.73's and do the test right.

How it went down is like making a "World's Strongest Man" contestant and making him run with one of those Kenyan marathon runners and seeing who lasts longer. Duh, the competition guys is stronger but he is in essence "geared different". If you wanna do a test, do it right.

To compare a 3.73 to a 4.30 is a difference but not night and day. The Tundra shoulda easily been able to maintain a speed and use less power due to better mechanical advantage. Plus, the rest of the drivetrain ought to compensate for the rear gear also and not act suprised this taller gear is there. The Tundra has this gearing for exactly this reason and apparently fell of it's face.
