Get a new cap to match the new rotor, and make sure you use dielectric grease in the boots at BOTH ends, and ensure the wires are fully seated on the plugs and in the cap and coil.

heh looks liek i found the ticking noise, i took the cap off and the rotor tip was bent in, the cap had a huge slash in it and was only giving spark to half the cylinders, ganna put the new cap on and some dielctric grease after engine cools. maybe i just put the cap on wrong or something not sure.....

the tick is from it jumping spark, from plug wire to cap, cap to rotor, or coil wire to cap. Either way its a miss fire. You did something wrong, now go fix it again, re-attach all the wires check the cap is on right, check the rotor, or change it all.

no, but the rotor and cap are now trash. make sure cap goes on the right way, it should be idiot proof with a lug on the bottom but you know how stuff happens
