What color did you get?

Well it was real hard not to get red again. I'm such a ***** for red.
I went with a white one this time, they are soo easy to take care of and white paint hides a lot of nicks and swirls etc. Inside will be dark charcoal with the chamois colored seats option. It oughta be pretty sharp. I wish it wasn't being built on a Monday though.
(sorry to original poster...guess I hijacked the thread)

It was it was. This is still the best motorhead site on the net though. I am sure glad to know they changed the heads and plugs on the Mustangs and hopefully they will do the trucks too.
Do you think they would get tight enough to mess up the threads in the head?

Thanks, but it was actually it was DrTriton that brought the pictures and info of the new Mustang heads....
We just got a GT500 in yesterday, white w/ blue stripes....SWEEEEEET RIDE!
I believe they are going to sell it at MSRP as well with no additional markup.....

We are supposed to get a KR in a month or two. That one oughta really be bad ****!
Sure, it depends on the year 5.4L your referring to as far as - how to go about it. Older 2 valves can just be Time serted. You can do that yourself.
3 valves - You just get your heads re-worked, but your looking at down time.
Fox lake racing , Ford racing and a few other's I can't think of at the moment are out there for options.
3 valve heads - the easiest approach, to put the possible breakage dilemma behind you would be to go with the ONE PIECE Champion replacement plugs or hold out for more choices that are bound to come in the near future. I'm sure Motorcraft will have something soon (I hope).
I serious Ford F^ck up here .
BTW - I just heard Ford is laying off 19,000 workers ? Not sure how many, but it contradicts what they said a few months ago , not sure what's happening there - My Dad just told me that..

Sorry, should have indicated that. 2004 5.4l 3V w/ 98K miles. I'm about to do my plugs and if things go wrong I'd rather spend the money putting new, redesigned heads on instead of spending it on labor to remove broken plugs. Not sure the new heads are even a viable option but I'd sure like to find out.
I will know by Sunday if FORD is implementing the new design on modern builds of the 3v 5.4
I just got my Expy in a few days ago and will be pulling the #1 to investigate. Curiosity killed the cat HUH? I already have a set of plugs sitting here if they haven't, but, figure that it will be good info for the rest of the 08 buyers.
I will let you know as soon as I find out...

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I just bought an '06 Supercrew and was going to do preventative maintenance and change the plugs out in the truck, it has 58k on it. Is EVERYONE who changes plugs in these experiencing breakage? Are there any steps prior to removal that could be done to aid in removal without breaking? I was thinking of soaking them overnight in PB blaster.
