We are converting them for a supercharged application (forged lower end, lower comp. ratio).

I like those plugs a helluva lot better than the current 3V plug. Of course, all us 2007ish and earlier owners got screwed.

I'd bet we will start seeing heads like this on the 5.4 soon anyway, whether they are the same or not.

The same plant makes all the 3V heads so I'd bet they are already on the 5.4's as well.

Quintin or Fordtech1,

Can you find out how much a set of those heads cost? How many shop hours does it take to replace a pair of heads?

The part # is either:
E1900 250208
8S-837-AB

Thanks,
Bubba

Oh wait they won't do cause that will cause everyone's panties to get in wad and want it fixed. Anyway I think they should at least offer free plug changes....or at least let the dealers charge a normal price for the change and if any break NOT hold the customer responsible.

I concur 100%. It is silly for FordMoCo to pass on the headaches of what used to be a simple tune up procedure of changing plugs onto the consumer. FordMoCo knew about this huge flaw for 5 years and initially kept their head in the sand passing all costs and problems onto the consumer. And now comes another TSB. There is a cure for this problem for the consumer and it is called Dodge, Chevy, GMC, Toyota, and Nissan.

Trade in your Ford to one of the above competitive dealerships and let Ford ramble on with their head stuck between blueprints. After some 70 years of plugs, Ford should be advanced in the plug game rather than playing dodge ball with the public.

At the Least.....FoMoCo could come up with an updated plug design, similar to the Champion design...(One Piece)! Ya think! For all of the millions of us who have these heads! FoMoCo would simply install the new updated plugs when these vehicles would come in for routine plug change! If they snapped them, FoMoCo would fix for free & not pass the buck to the consumer! Really I think that is a totally fare deal for both parties involved.........It is cost efficient & fare! What is there problemo regarding this matter?.........

With the several problems I had with this truck and now 3 plugs breaking at 35k miles I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it is finally time to put this truck out to the pasture. I'm tempted not to buy another Ford but I won't pass judgement that quick. I plan on running this truck into the ground and if it stays problem free except for normal wear and tear items then I'll take a look at getting another Ford.
