I'm not sure of the exact length of the extension, 4-6 inches maybe, and I use a long handle flex head ratchet. Just tall enough to get the wrench on by the heater hose. The PCM is easy to pull though, not a bad way to do it, The less we have to take apart the better for us flat rate guys

are you still running the stock injectors on your 05? or have you swapped them out? Do you know the part # for the replacements? My buddy has an 05, and he wants to swap them out, but wants to make sure he doesn't get the same bad injectors from the Ford parts desk.
I have been fortunate and still have the stock injectors, however I have done quite a few trucks with the bad ones.....two of them got new CAT Converters as well.....I can get the latest and greatest part number for you if you want it, I wouldn't go swapping them out though unless there is a problem since the warranty is extended on them now. What sucks though is that they only want you to replace the known bad injectors, as to where we used to replace the whole bank since we had the rail off....

Joe, I soaked mine about 30 mins or so. When I took them out the electrod shield had plenty of cleaner and undissolved carbon. But to quote Fordtech1, screech is a scarry word. All of mine came out screeching and screaming. Like the TSB, when I felt the torque increase, I reversed about a turn and continued backing out.
A couple of them I though had broken. What a sigh of relief to see the whole thing emerge from their dark tunneled home. Get this, when I started, I didn't have a 9/16" sparkplug socket. At 10:00 at night, I used a regular deep well socket and then used a magnet to pull the plug out of the hole. The scarry part is when the tip clears the hole and you have poor lighting to try and see the end of the plug.
Sorry to go so long, but I just got back from a ~250 trip and everything seems fine. I did have a CEL with two misfire codes. We erased them at Autozone and they didn't come back. Probably moisture from the carburator cleaner.
Guys thanks for all the help!!

Do dealers actually sell the bad 05 injectors? or were they just from the factory?
Sad thing is, I'm serious.
Still the two piece.
