When the weather is cold outside my truck tends to make a slight burping sound. When it does this it sounds like it comes from the intake tube and does this when I turn on heater/ac/anything really. Does it just about anytime, off of idle, cruising on the highway, any suggestions?

 

What year truck and size motor do you have?

 

I would like to hear it "burp".

 

It's a 2002 with a 4.6. I'm not sure if it's some kind of vacuum or what causing this "burping" sound.

 

You sure it's not like a gurgling sound ? Never heard them burp before

Nope not a gurgling sound. Every now and then it will make a short "burping" sound wait a little bit and do it again...

 

Mine does it when I switch from defrost to the vents.

 

Well, I put on a new BBk 75mm throttle body today and I no longer have the "burping" sound...strange but it worked...

 

Did the new throttle body come with a new IAC(Idle Air Control) valve. Mine was making the same noise and it turned out to be the IAC.

 

Yea , the only deal that makes noises is the IAC on the TB elbow - But it only happens if the IAC in line muffler has been removed (via intake mod). That's what the muffler is for.

BTW - The stock TB is good up to 325 hp. You only need a TB mod when you exceed limits , but then you also need to Modify the MAF sensor to do you any good .

Otherwise you won't see much from that mod - Maybe a little @ high RPMs , buts that about it.
