2009 f150 6.0L diesel?

I dropped my truck off at ford to look at something for me and i started talkin to a dealer, we got to talkin about trucks, and he said that a ford employee leaked pictures of the 2009 f150 (completely redesigned), and also said that the truck is rumored to have a 6.0L diesel, first ever for a 1/2 ton truck. Anyone hear anything about this?

Look into the 2009 F150 forum, there is a bunch of info in there. I think the diesel was a 4.4 or 4.2L 6cyl.

The new diesel in the F-150 will be the 4.4 V8 CGI diesel that is a variant of the Land Rover engine in Europe. Introduction is slated for September 2009 if Ford doesn't change it mind yet again. The V6 engine which is the 4.5 is a Navistar engine and Ford is cutting all business with Navistar due to warranty issues. Surely you've heard about the litigation? Anyway, the 4.5 has major issues with emmissions certification in a light duty truck and frankly, you wouldn't want one strapped with all of the controls on it. The 4.4 V8 brings a lot of new technology to the playing field and will raise the bar high enough that it will be the leader for years to come. It will put Ford in the drivers seat for that segment of trucks. Initial target specs are 300Hp- 450lbs torque. It will be coupled to a new 6 speed auto which should make it the tow/fuel mileage champ for the half ton trucks.

Yes navistar gave ford a big debit, lol, they didnt like that. Im always the last to know, Im the 6.0/6.4 specialist at our dealer and I hear it here that we arent getting the V6 now. Not sure I feel like being a landrover diesel specialist too. Got any pics of links?

I have read the same, the most exact figures I have seen are 278 hp and 413 ft/lb of tq. I will try to find the link. I have to believe there will be a crazy waiting list. I would LOVE to own one as this truck will be bad @$$!

It will come out in late '09 billed as a MY10 truck....good friends with some engineers at International told me that was the case. They are still working on some emissions issues
