engine rebuild

will rebuilding an engine make it as good as new?

how about adding a lightning shortblock to replace my current one... wil that work?

If your not planing on putting a blower on it you don't really want a L short block. A Lightning short block has lower compression then your stock block.
If you have the extra money,,,this would be a sweet replacement for ya!.

I'm offering him 3500 if it don't sell it - that's all I can come up with .. Shoot it's @ 3300 now

I figure he wants 5 for it..

That sucks - it was looking like it wasn't going to go over 3 on ebay.

I wrote and asked what his reserve price is - no answer yet.

Yea , ok - I wonder what he paid ? He purchased right from Ford back in 03, I bet it was 6 or 7 when he bought it..

Yea, maybe. Like that guy who was selling that non-PI block and heads as a 2000 model 5.4L - That one you were looking at.

Well , IM OUT!! It's @ 3550 now.

Co to car-parts.com and search for a 2000 all the way to 2004 L engine. Use the Midwest and you should find a few in your price range. You could also include the Harley starting in 02. That is how I source my M5ODs when they break.

ya i saw that engine too....but i was also thinking..its been sitting around for 4-5 years....i wonder if something might not be frozen in there...start up boom! or would you do a tear down..replace the heads(sparkplug threads)..etc while ya have it out...hmmmm
