Yea, that's where I found the last motor I needed for a Windstar - found one for $350 w 40,000 miles on it back then. I also found a nice E4OD TRANS from that site. That was pricey and I didn't end up needing one. The trans was slipping from the line and Mike (Troyer) thought a shift kit might take care of that problem . He was right and I didn't need a trans after all.

That's the great resource (car-part.com) for used motors and transmissions.

Truthfully, that would have put me right at the line as far as finances, but it was new and if I could have purchased it cheaply, I was willing. I go back to work in the spring and SHOULD wait until then before I invest in another motor. I would give that guy 5 grand for that one if I could do it. That's what I want . A NEW L motor. I don't want to build one if I can stay away from it.

But yea , car-part.com has come through for me before as well..

Yup, and the color. The L blower is gray and the Harley is black.

Thanks , yea I seen guys asking allot for those motors ,used they were over 6
grand . That wasn't on car-part.com tho. Some salvage yard down south advertises on ebay quite a bit. They never show the actual pic of the motor , just a pic of one installed in a vehicle and state "not actual motor" lol.

Another guy on eBay selling a 2000 5.4L block and heads , but you could see the intake ports in the heads were non-PI ports.

That's what was good about that one on ebay - It was new and you can see that it was. Plus it's 45 minutes away from me

You know we talk alot about the Lightning setup and I'm a big fan of the lightning but I think we also should consider the options of a turbo

The turbo works off the engine exhaust and not pulling off the crank. That equals more power and less drag. The turbo is a little more complicated but does produce more power and torque IMO.

lightning blower setup

I'm removing the Lightning blower set up I have, Its an 02 system. It includes everything except the intercooler system. I have a block off plate where the intercooler hoses go into the mid plate, The blower has on it now the 6lb. Harley pulley.
It comes with; blower, plenum, throttlebody, mid plate, manifold, 42lb. injectors, 90mm mas air, tensioner bracket complete, blower belt, crank blower pulley and balancer pulley, alternator bracket, new in box 255lph.fuel pump, Autometer column mount pilliar with 20psi boost gauge.

All parts are in excellent condition, I can send a photo of it all still on the engine now. I lost a head gasket and I'm building a different setup for myself.

Price $2000. firm + ship.

A turbo makes more power and torque at a lower amount of boost than a s/c but it doesnt have the instant tire shredding power as a s/c, and is much more expensive. I would rather have a turbo, but im very happy with what I have.

HI!... It depends if you can do the fabrication yourself. I can build a T-76/T-88 turbo set-up cheaper than any ROOTS/SCREW type set-up out there. If the turbo set-up is set-up right you will get instant boost. In my application a T-76 will go full boost at 2800-3000 rpm. With my truck having a 3000 stall converter it will go to full boost instantly. I had a hard enough time trying to get my truck to hook N/A with NITTO 305/45/R-18 drag radials. That was with just 354RWH.P. Can you imagine 650RWH.P with a turbo set-up. lol! There are a ton of myths out there about turbo's. Most are just that, MYTHS.
