new headers
im not 100% sure if its louder dual pipes im pretty sure but thats a question for built54. i was gonna ask him my self whats better for power gas mileage and all that . True duels 2 mufflers SI DO at the muffler or SI SO muffler. im running true duels 2 mufflers that dump under the cab. its pretty loud i got some old school dynomaxx superturbos thoe so there kinda big...it was very very loud true dual open headers...imagne that.... lol theres a guy that took off his Front cat on this forum some were you could do something like that to run your long tubes im gonna go look for it
ok i found it https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=305931
but he cut off the back 2 cats...so pretty much something like this only...cut the front cats and down pipe as Long tube headers will replace that. you will have to custom fab a flange onto the pipe but you should be able to keep the rear cats with long tubes...i think. good luck with it

Yea , I was one the first to experiment running with just the smaller "front" cat awhile ago .
With a stock system - That cat mod should be done like this or your just wasting time and pissing away you money ..
Disconnect battery .
Remove Exhaust to manifold "Flange Bolts"
Remove crossbar below the the transmission.
Remove bolts that hold the transmission mount and exhaust support in place.
Your exhaust will now drop down enough so that you may enter the front cats ..
Gut your front cats with 3/4" auger type bit. Proceed into the cat and bust up material - Have a shop vac running to catch all dust and dis guarded material. Work a little at a time to catch as much dust as possible - If you don't , you will foul your EGR system..
Once there cleaned out - reconnect and enjoy.
Theres no welding or replacing this way, It's all you ..
Good Luck to whoever wants a much improved sound over stock and a little better performance..

No Cuttin what so ever - You have just enough room to access the inside of your front converter after the system is unbolted and has dropped down in front..
Every one that I talked to about this before I went ahead with it had there own tool of choice for the extraction
Someone even used piece of rerod to jab at and break up the material inside the cat - then extract with a shop vac - It doesn't take that long ..
I think built54 has done this at one time - Patmanscrew has done it and Fasterf150 has experience at this as well.
The job is fairly easy and simple - Note: Inspect your flange bolts first - if old and rusty - you can count on them busting off inside the manifold and trust me - you won't get them out after that - Manifolds are $26 apiece on ebay - you might want to get a new set if your flange bolts look bad..
It does sound Bad A$$ - I had a Flowmaster 50 series when I first did this and my truck sounded like a Mustang GT under normal take off loads
