built54...if i had over 500HP im sure id be drifting every were. i have 220HP if that. and drifting on snow is a lil better for the rear diff and tires....untill u go from slideing on snow to hitting dry pavment..thats a weird/bad feeling. but i really cant wait for winter now lol. ill have a few vids of me and my truck blowin threw a snowman at like 50.i love haveing 4X2 haha drifting makeing left turns is easyer than makeing right turns..is this because of my limited slip diff??

with headers like those pacesetter long tubes can it still work with the cat-back exhaust i have on there now? or do i have to modify the exhaust manifold extensively?

Now Back To The Headers

I have the 4.2, which is hard enough to get parts for.

Any manufacturer for the headers & cat back system on the 4.2?

Are they "Smog Legal" for California?

headers replace the exhuast manifold. and with longtubes you will have to have a custom pipe made to fit those long tubes will not fit on your Stock Y-pipe or any of the stock down pipe. *long tubes pretty much replace the down pip* shorttys bolt right up to the stock down pipe but as Built54 has reasearched and tested shorttys give u 0HP and 0FTlbs. i belive you would have to get some kind of aftermarket cat *if you still want to run cats* or just get an aftermarket muffler. Built54 can explain this better than i can. but the final answer is No longtube headers cannot go to your stock exhuast Cats. shorttys can but they offer no power gain.

hey Built54, could you expand on what shifty was saying? With a new down pipe can I tie into my exhaust system without changing mufflers?

after my long tubes, i ran mandrel bent pipe, custom made, and connected it to my muffler. you dont have to change the muffler.

- I use d my stock Y with Long tubes and High flows - Long tube Pacesetters aren't Flanged , there a straight 3" OD @ the collector ends . - If your keeping your stock REAR cats or running High Flows behind the header - Eliminate the stock front cat/pre cat , you don't need it - weld the rear converter or High flows directly to the headers - It's tight on 4x4 models , they make reducers that fit inside these longtubes as well - Stock 2.5 converter can slide inside the header with an INSIDE header /collector reducer , You can then use your stock Y pipe..

No problem on 2WD models - You have allot more room.
