Oh , like - rack-em up, I'll break , while you get the brewha's.

Gotcha

Retest - Reset ,trans tables , fuel trims, mixtures = If you want to off that code , it's gotta be set right . Do you know the FORD OBD procedure for a quick reset .??

Just disconnect the battery - does the same thing , but you have to wait awhile.

It took my truck nearly 800 miles to extinguish the P1000.

Did it come back after a reboot every time?

LOL , okay, I'll give it a shot

If it comes back and you need to get rid of it, there's a "Scorpio" procedure which is similar to FORD OBD2 procedure. In these procedures there's a few tests that can't be accomplished unless your commute allows it to be, sort of , you'll see.. Sometimes when performed yourself, it can fail to follow thru the program - Don't let this deter you .

How long have you had the code? Sometimes it's simple , other times it's not .

If you want to rid yourself of that code and the reboot doesn't work - I have the paper work in the shop for the 98 -

Wait a minute , I think I have something - let load up another other hardrive , I might have a link. Hang-on..

ADD this to your favorites or folder - it's the best one out IMO.

Alright , I have to find it. One MINUTE..

It's a good idea to learn how the Executive functions and how it comes up with the monitor status of "incomplete" -

Here's one set of tests , there's more - the EVAP is a P1000 culprit. See if your EVAP even runs , certain conditions must be met.

Detailed info can be found here -

Basically your forcing it to complete.

Another link - one that's actually specific to your truck:: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...f/obdsm985.pdf

Reboot won't work - you'll get P1000.

Like I said - drive cycles

As I posted earlier. Reflashing only resets, and delays the inevitable wait through the drive cycles.

Keep in mind , if you run your truck under a 1/2 tank of fuel it won't test everything. I'm not sure where that info is , but you should come across that somewhere while reading.

Keep it at 3/4 ..
