yea i was talking about the 05 06 &07 models the 03 and 04 were the ones that had all the problems but the 05 up still have a few every now and then but mostly just the stupid egr cooler and head bolts. but get them studded and put a egr delete kit on them and give them enough fuel to black out a 4 lane hwy on half throttle and there something to have fun in then.

And that would be your first mistake a power stroke. I am die hard ford but if you want power and want to go fast that would be your worst choice.

If you honestly wanted to take the time to drop in a diesel a powerstroke would not be a wise choice. It's just to big, cost to much to hop up compared to others and after 600 HP your basically at the limits of the bottom end and need to think hard about building it or just say screw all sense of reliability. The best choice for a swap in diesel would be a cummins of some sort. Alot prefer the 12V for swap ins because of the simplicity with no electronics, and they can make stupid amounts of power. I've heard talk of a stock cummins bottom end bein good for like 800hp. Welp thats all i can really think of right now.

Bingo. Their are two other trucks in my buddies shop along with my truck. One is a 07 duramax, he put on a huge *** turbo s475 last week and putting the injectors in today. The truck ran a 8.20 last fall in the eigth with a PPE hot tune and a suncoast trans. That is an extended cab short bed truck at that. The other is a 92 F250 with a 12v cummins Billet trans, huge turbo, huge injectors, and a NX 2 stage kit. They have both said how much it would take to get a power stroke to where they are let alone keep it together.

Sorry for the off subject Built. Hows your project comin along?
