Project GO FAST is now in progress!!!
A. manual transmission would only take this guy a day if you know him..
B. why would he want to go slower, an auto is faster and its built...
B. why would he want to go slower, an auto is faster and its built...
Regardless of that, I have a couple of thoughts on your time estimate. Now I am not saying that Built cannot accomplish this take in a day, heck I do not even know Built as you pointed out previously BUT ---> One day to install a six speed trans out of a Super Duty
Let me see, in that 24 hour period here is what I can think needs to be done to install a manual trans never installed in an F150 (ie this is not a plug and play job) - remove the interior, remove the carpet, remove the sound deadener, remove the trans tunnel, remove the auto pedal, remove the exhaust, remove the torsion bar suspension, remove the trans support, remove the trans cooler lines, remove the trans, remove auto trans flywheel, install a two pedal setup, install pilot bearing in crank, install manual flywheel, install clutch, install throwout bearing in trans, install the new trans, make and install a new trans tunnel, make and install new trans support, measure, send off for, and install a new drive shaft, install clutch linkage (hydraulic), bleed clutch, install sound deadener, install carpet (by the way I'm sure if fits exactly the same even with the modified trans tunnel), install seats, modify center console to accomodate modified trans tunnel, finally (and I am sure I forgot a ton of little things) test drive the truck. Sure, 24 hours Done and Done.
But you also asked WHY - Why does Nascar, Indy, F1, Prostock, etc all run manual trans cars - one word - RELIABILITY. Personally, I don't want to rebuild my auto trans every 1/4 mile, but hey that's just me....

Besides, the item has to be heavy enough to trash his tailgate.
You mis-understand I am in no way trying to question your friend's abilities. Since others were taking a stab at Built's latest upgrade I assumed I could inject my thoughts as well.

i wasnt saying yer were questioning his abiltity at all...maybe it looked like that on the screen..just saying he does things very quick...no harsh feelingshowever..the fastest car(s) in the world street/track is an auto
sure sticks are reliable but no one here besides JL has a extreme high hp truck, and his is an auto..any tranny is good if the parts being used are top notch...
once again no hard feeling just expressing opinions..neways back to the topic..any updates built
Family kills most of my free time but work has me all around the metro area. Not sure that's what you mean but....
