ok I believe the problem has been found. My fuel pump controller would not let me turn the voltage up or down, then all of a suddon it started running the pump constantly with the key off! I pulled off the power wire, and I Figured the relay on it stuck or something. I put a new one on it, same relay, just a new one, and it still ran constantly. So by the looks of things, it was giving that 325lph pump full power all the time, and would you think that would be causing my problems???

that is it. I have to wait till tomorrow to call the guy I got the fp controller from, I'll have it sent next day if possible! I guess tomorrow I can work on cleaning up all the wires and stuff, and im doing some paint work to the hood and grill, so I might as well do that tomorrow also, should give it a new look

Ok - the voltage to the pump regulates pump volume primarily, I thought, but isn't there a fuel pressure regulator in that system, holding it to ~40-45psi (or whatever an L requires) as well? Is it possible for the 'full-on' pump to overwhelm the regulator?

And just as a general observation, buddy, you will need to correct whatever method you are using to measure wideband A/F's. Because without that working 100%, you will never get this thing dialed in spot-on with a mail-order tune. Shot-term fuel trims are fine for Closed loop (part-throttle low-load operation). But for WOT operation in Open loop you absolutely need good, accurate A/F data, along with all the other dozen or so PID's / DMR's you should be recording, for the tuner dude to have a complete picture and work his magic. And for your engine to live a long, safe life. lol

Ok. It's just that the tuner said it was reading in the 7's .... so he was using STFT instead ....

And - what I would like explained to me is how CAN the STFT''s be in the groove if the fueling is so far out of whack? You'd think the correction would be pegged. ??? What am I missing?

Quintin - you there boss? Bubba needs some ed-u-ma-cation LOL!

So Built - what's the new ETA on this thing?

bubba

Since this seems to be the HP thread, I am looking for someone in the Portland/SW Washington area that could help us. We are looking for a 99-04 4.6L equipped PI headed truck that might be able to work with us to complete the design for a positive displacement blower. We are a engineering/product development company. The kit has been completed. The last 12 months has been spent testing and proving the product in, and it has been tested on a 2003 Mustang GT. rwhp came in at 386 by 402 torque @8.5 pounds of boost. We now need this truck to complete fitment and to do testing. Please e-mail to rfedd@aol.com

Thanks, and sorry to side track the thread a bit,

Ron

Uh, Ron - you should have started a fresh thread in Engines.

Please don't clog up this one, okay?

Thanks.

Haven't heard from Quintin in awhile MGD

It would be great to get his input on this one ... I wanna see Joey get this running to it full potential.

Theres nothing better after turning your truck on - it can return the favor...This one should..
