Truck stalling

I have a 92' F-150 5.0 4 speed manual w/ overdrive. When I am shifting down to slow the truck, I'll hit second and run that gear down. As soon as I push in the clutch my truck usually dies or gets a really low unstable idle. Which in turn makes me loose my power steering alot! Also my clutch is like pushing down a cynder block. My leg is used to it.. thank god i don't have to drive that everyday... but what could that problem be. We checked for air in the lines when we popped the cap off of the clutch reservoir it would bubble when we pushed down the clutch.. Any ideas.. Thanks

The surge in return fluid as you release the clutch will make a small geyser in the reservoir.
That may be what you’re seeing.
If you have actual air bubbles, then of course you need to bleed the system.

The stiff feel may be the QD at the slave.
If the line is not fully seated the QD can act as a restrictor.

The stalling is a separate issue.
Maybe clean the TB & bypass valve.
