04 4.6 question

04 4.6 question

ok i got a 2004 4.6 (new bodystyle) do they make any cams for this that offers a lobe?? serious the way it looks right now with some of the stuff ive been doing to it im wanting a engine with a nice lobe to it so any help would be nice...

All cams have lobes, that's how they work.

Many places don't advertise for the 4.6 truck engine but there are plenty of cams for the mustang, and our heads are the same 2v from 96-2004mustang gt's. That being said you can find many things for internal parts from mustang related companys.

Try calling around at these shop's for some info.

yes they do get a set of comp cam stage 2's and some springs and ur good to go. u will need a tune and a mild stall or taller gears. so it wont die

i got a friend who owns a dynoshop and he said he would tune it for me if i get the things i want to do done to it so it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

ok guys i think i figured out the cams, and springs im going to go with i just need help on a few other things

1) i need to know what website i can get a 70mm throttlebody from for a 2004 ford f150 with electronic controled throttle

2) where can i get a 80mm mass air?

3) what company makes a good converter with a 3000rpm stall?

if all goes well this should be purchased within the month if i can find everything needed for this... btw who sells cheap gears

im working on gettin a stock throttle body from a 04 4.6 ported to 70mm

2 the stock MAF is 80mm

3 u can get rebuilt stock converters on ebay for cheap. if u want something for race application get a non lock as it lets the engine build up rpm more freely and accurately. less strain on the engine. but more heat is generated

where are you getting your stock mass ported at?

and do what are the pi heads? do we have them

your engine already has PI heads and the stock MAF sensor is good for about 450hp. and im gettin the stock throttle body ported by a machinest on a lathe with a boring bar

ok so my last question, if i go with a taller gear would i have to have a stall in my tq converter

Not looking for a real detailed answer, but what do new cams do? How does it provide more power?

controls the time the exhaust valves open up and etc....
