All cams have lobes, that's how they work.

the sound is what im going for the sound of a oversized cam, what do they make for it :help:

Many places don't advertise for the 4.6 truck engine but there are plenty of cams for the mustang, and our heads are the same 2v from 96-2004mustang gt's. That being said you can find many things for internal parts from mustang related companys.

Try calling around at these shop's for some info.

I'm curious on how a cam would work in our trucks, keep us informed on how things go!

yes they do get a set of comp cam stage 2's and some springs and ur good to go. u will need a tune and a mild stall or taller gears. so it wont die

ridge 08-12-2007 11:10 PM

i got a friend who owns a dynoshop and he said he would tune it for me if i get the things i want to do done to it so it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

im working on gettin a stock throttle body from a 04 4.6 ported to 70mm

2 the stock MAF is 80mm

3 u can get rebuilt stock converters on ebay for cheap. if u want something for race application get a non lock as it lets the engine build up rpm more freely and accurately. less strain on the engine. but more heat is generated

ridge 08-13-2007 12:49 PM

where are you getting your stock mass ported at?

and do what are the pi heads? do we have them

ridge 08-14-2007 10:43 AM

anyone :help: i really need to know i would like to get this stuff this month but need a little help :beers:

Faster150 08-14-2007 11:28 AM

your engine already has PI heads and the stock MAF sensor is good for about 450hp. and im gettin the stock throttle body ported by a machinest on a lathe with a boring bar

ridge 08-14-2007 12:18 PM

ok so my last question, if i go with a taller gear would i have to have a stall in my tq converter

Not looking for a real detailed answer, but what do new cams do? How does it provide more power?
