I have a 1998 ext-cab 4x4 with 4.6 manual tanny. All of a sudden today it started running slugish and like just no power on take off or after shifting gears, no check engine light yet, any ideas???? had a tune up less than 20,000 miles ago

 

More symptoms please. What did you do when you had a "tune up"? We need details.

 

Also, have you filled up recently? Maybe bad fuel.

Agreed on the fuel problem... change filter. run some Chevron fuel injector cleaner through it.

 

One of the easiest things to do is clean the Mass Air sensor. I have seen this thing cause more problems than you can imagine if it gets a piece of debris stuck in the meter. Just spray it real good with electronic cleaner or a spray cleaner designed strictly for Mass Air sensors. Don't touch it with anything just spray it. Good luck.
