How much for a fuel system cleaning

I just got off the phone with fords service department. They wanted a $170 to do there "three stage fuel system cleaning. I guess it includes hooking up the fuel rail. CLeaning all the injectores. Putting some stuff in the tank and also cleaning the throttle body.

My truck has a 170,000 on her and im sure it could beifit from it. But i could have sworn that i have seen people on here getting it for under a $100.

Is it really worth that much?

How hard are the injectors to change? DO I HAVE TO LAY ON THE GROUND....

LOL

THats a good idea. I have several of your post saved on how to clean the TB and how to dremel it out. Thats just waiten to be done. Weekend project.

Would it be worth my while to upgrade the injectors at this time? Only asking cuase im doing that stage 2 of mikes within the next two months and maybe that might help me get a bit more out of it?

I just thought it might be worth it to go to 24# injectors now so thats not anything holding me back in the future?

Yea , you really don't need 24's unless your over 320 horsepower at the flywheel.

Those 19's you posted take a special 2 blade connector that you need to get.

Well , I can't find them - but there is a connector site out there. I just bought a new harness for 10 bucks off ebay that had them on it..

The harness was from a 2001 Crown Vic Motor (4.6)

LOL, Thats the thing , theres hundreds - thousands of crate motors out there that are slowley getting recycled - and there new!! The main people for me are untouchable , I've tried for a couple years now. Nothing more I can do legally , so I 'll leave it alone there..

But theres a handfull of suppliers who know the right people that get these crate motors . There only allowed to distribute the top end , the rest goes to someone else who distributes the heads - Nobody gets the blocks, the get retailed somehow.

That's all I know.

I never bought heads , I must have been out bid on those..

Hate to ask you again but what makes the conector differnt. What should i look for. These look the same as the last. THe only differance i see is that the connector is more round. where as the last ones and these ones are square? Am i right?
