Loud Knocking From Throttle Body Area??? Anybody???

I have 2000 150 Scab w 81,000. Last Saturday I started the truck after it had sit all day. 2 mins ltr it started missing, bad, got it home on the way I noticed a knocking from the throttle body area.

Got codes 303 and 308, took down the pass bank and found #3 to be wet and smelled of gas. Replaced #3 COP and replaced plugs on left bank. Started trk to see if it was any better and still knocking and still got 303 (miss #3) -308 (miss #8).

Took lft bnk back down and switced 1-2 COP with 3-4 COP. Now I have a 303, 308, and 354 (bad coil). Now running rougher???

The knocking sounds like it is coming from the IAC or below the throttle body???

Any ideas on what this might be?

No I have not, but will start on that next, does that cause a knock in the throttle body / idle air controll valve area?

No, but it could make you think its coming from that area.

First answer this - Did you disconnect the battery each time before swapping COPs? Before you put a 7mm to the bolt.??

What size motor?

I guess it doesn't matter now -

1-4 =bank 1 (right bank)
5-8 =bank 2 (left bank)

When #4 goes completly it will knock like a biatch (I don't know why). Primary is gone it's fried , when you swap them around like that ,you can do more damage then good..

You need to replace them all.

You have to have Motorcraft plugs in there if your stock for it to run right.

Get the coils here from Kevin - ($96 for all eight).

DG 508'S those be the ones. COP's are very versatile , they use the same one on the crown vics as well.

All 4six, 5four motors - there all the same..

What do you mean Kev. - He has them.. Just Checked ..

Hey FORD MAN , if you want to check the injectors , you can with a noid light as well - they follow the pulse and blink . Whatcha look for is an erratic blinker or no blinking. - there like 3 -4 bucks at the auto supply.
