I would not use anti-sieze on the threads IMO
Last time i used it and 15,000 miles later 3 plugs were a little loose so i didn't use it this time.I would rather have them sieze a little then a plug blowout

I run NGK V-Power plugs should I change those out you think? I have a 1997 F-150 with a 4.6L I have recently rebuilt it and am having some troubles 99% sure its with the timing I messed up a little when putting it back together its out about 8 degrees. I have a post up already about it called "any thoughts" but anyway, should I cnahge out my NGK plugs for Motocraft ones?

Man.. he's been out there for an hour..

And an above poster asked about plug brand.. I know peeps all have opinions and mine is Motorcraft all the way. Besides my '07 SuperCrew I have a 94 Stang five litre and have always run MC plugs, sensors, cap and rotor, and Motorsport wires and would never use anything else... Even after I redid the motor at 163k, (you could still see the machine marks on the cylinder walls ) I replaced every sensor and the tune-up stuff with ford parts.

Angry Problem hasn't changed at all

I changed the COP's and the plugs, got no change in the way it's running or the loud knocking coming from under the throttle body area???

Got any new suggestions???

Angry Any Suggestions???

Maybe I need to describe my problem with more clarity.

I changed the COP's and Plugs, still missing, and the knocking is still there.

The knocking comes in on acceleration at about 1500 rpm and goes away at 2500, then on deceleration comes in at 2500 and goes away at 1500. At idle there is a decernable ticking not Exhaust but like a compression "tick", which sounds more like thht, thht, thht, coming from inside the engine.

Your knock sensor is right below the Throttle Body and manifold

We Have An Update!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys checked the Knock Sensor, checked out fine, went to the IAC, looked bad and checked out bad.

Replaced IAC, started truck, knocking persists, looking at EGR, MOTOR MADE THESE SOUNDS bang BANG BANG AND LOCKED UP!!! I figure a wrist pin or a dropped valve.

In any event I owe more than the truck is worth. HMMMM???

What do I do now?

Going to sleep onit!!!

Thanks for all your help, will get back to you later, right now I have a date with Jack Daniels.

That sucks

Well if ya owe more than its worth you will prob have to fix it.A rebuild, new or junk yard motor....

They normally get over 200,000 miles with very few probs!!!!!
