Yeah yeah , well I want to understand whats going on here and maybe I'm not thinkling straight .

DO NOT try the things I do - there was many precautions taken but - STILL if my truck burped backfired thru the intake - it could of got messy..

I'm just going to reduce the airflow - done...

Call Mike Kevin..

Thanks everyone for the help,i really appreciate it
I remember reading that post but couldn't find it.
The bad is that it looks like it could get pricey even if i do the minimum and get the custom tune w/ injectors.I may have to wait until i have more $$$ for this.
The reason it worries me is b/c my other truck (90 chevy stepside)i had a 383 stroker built for it and i ran it w/o tune and that went way lean and i blew the motor.

I'll call today and leave a phone ##

Kevin - Mike explains it in MGDfan's 2nd link he posted - I have the MAGNAFLOW cat back and an intake like the AF1 - my Intake manifold and even the tops of my pistons have a nice shine (polished), 9.75 Rear w 3.75's - I guess all that puts me over 320 hp @ the crank from what I read so my injectors are maxed - I t's a fuel problem as I thought.

I've alway's posted that my 4x4 smokes those 3 valve's , I wasn't kidding..

I need to upgrade to 24's - and a trans that can handle a holeshot First gears just about gone - I hit second and byby lol

Thanx MGDfan , that confirmed my thoughts..

Yup,i've looked it over several times.
jbrew are you gonna try w/o tune upgrading injecters LOL...
I am going to drive it again and see if it falls on top end also.So i have my story straight when i talk to Mike
So again Thanks jbrew,Mgdfan,and Bluegrass

Ya jbrew just like me w/ edge and exhaust i can consistently run 0-60 in 7.6sec-7.75 which is no slouch for a big truck and w/ no edge adjustments i catch rubber every time on the 1-2 shift if i am at 3/4 throttle or more. No chit!!!If i really push it i can faintly hear a chirp on the 2-3 shift

LOL - well this is working out - my trans is already re-programed , it not only has a nice heathy chirp in second - but it hops if I don't let off a little.

Third hits hard as hell - no chirp tho ...yet

I doubt a tunner will help my non PI motor much - it might conflict with the trans program..

I'm going to have to shell it out for a trans - this one been bad for a year now..But it's a tough E4OD with a spun stator support that leaks a little internaly , that's all.. - It could prolly go another couple years if I babied it , but hell, that's no fun ....

Man thats a quick order.I just went for a 30mile drive.I took the interstate this time so i could test various condition. It's worse than i thought. On normal accel its fine.Anything much over 1/4 throttle is when it happens. In OD it does it also when it has to work.Like Bluegrass said as soon as it downshifts its fine and then it shortly starts again.Same on going from 4-2 gear. You can also feel it if you run w/ OD off.It doesn't seem to help much by easing into it either. This is the same level as i used to run.If i go to level3 its alot better but i attribute that to it dumping more fuel in than level2 does.
Gotta call Mike ASAP

Lean missfire! I havn't told the whole story yet.
Still some things to do.
I did do a test trick that proved further that lean miss is a problem for some engines under decelleration, then back on very light throttle by dsconnecting the fuel regulator, plugging the vacuum line. This raises the fuel pressure and makes the a/f richer for a couple drive cycles until the PCM catches up with the trick and leans the fuel back again.
It cleared the lean miss for awhile.
During this chase to discover what is happening, new spark plugs were shown to clear the miss for a short time until they got some errosion and became harder to fire again.
Bottom line is the BOSCH #6241 plugs showed they will stay longer than Motorcraft plugs 'in this respect' until the lean miss returns. They are a fine wire plug that are easier to fire in a lean condition.
This also suggest the OEM ignition may be marginal.
The chase goes in.

Thats cool - great price since the cheapest I found looking for someone was 100 bucks a piece..

Why two - is two better? One does it pretty good for me - remember , stay away from magnaflows flow thru cats - they don't last - ask Neal...
