P2104,p2106,p2111,p2112 & P2135

P2104 Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Idle
P2106 Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power
P2111 Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Open
P2112 Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Closed
P2135 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch “A” /"B" Voltage Correlation

Is this correct?

I read in my Haynes headache manual that the TP sensor and throttle body are one unit so whole thing is not servicable and has to be replaced is this so?

Could all these codes come from a problem with the APPS or does that need replacing with the throttle body?

I have cleaned all connections sealed with grease etc problem persists

I have been advised to have the PCM "flashed" but being based in the UK i am unable to find somebody who is capable of doing this the response I mainly get is " You what????" - *******!

If it is a case of "flash" the PCM could I just buy a new one and fit it?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Help?!!!! please

Ooops sorry help if I told you what truck! F150 5.4 XLT 4x4 2004 SCREW (new shape) imported from Canada so has the stay on lights!

The TP sensor is serviceable seperately and is usually the cause of the DTCs you're seeing.

You need to replace the TPS and reprogram the PCM to the latest available calibration.

And if no one over there can reprogram your current PCM, they certainly won't be able to program a new PCM.

Thanks

What I mean is buy a PCM from the states with the program already installed or can that only be done with the PCM in the truck?

Sounds stupid I know and expensive but lost interest with searching so thought direct from the states would be quicker and easier!!!!

That, I'm not sure about. I've never tried it like that before. Really, for best results though it should be programmed in the truck. I think you'll have to reprogram all your keys to your new PCM as well.

Just read through the Haynes headache manual again
It states the TPS is an integral part of the throttle body on all 2004 5.4litre engines so is not servicable and needs to be replaced with the throttle body!!
I have had dubious advice from the headache manual in the past so only use it for reference
So is this the case or can I purchase the TPS on its own and bolt it on?

P2135 is this a generic code covering the throttle pedal and the TPS or is it specific to the TPS? Just wondering if there could be a problem at both ends?
Again might be barking up the wrong tree

Thanks for the replies

Don't call it the gospel, but I just took the TPS off of my 04 F150 and it was not made into the Throttle body. it is just held on with two torx bolts. i was just messin' and took it off. Take the two bolts out and off comes the TPS. On of the bolts twiste off so I had to drill it out and install a new bolt. Wasn't too bad. Hope that helps

What you haven't heard yet is your truck is full electronic throttle control or "fly by wire".
There is a lot of software that controls the action and to try and be sure the engine does not go out of control since there is no real throttle cable control.
Look at the first two code discriptions. This is one way to protect from an out of contol situations. These codes are action codes and not a cause or fault.
The last three are more represenitive of the actual fault.
The fix for you, can be very difficult in the absence of some luck by replacing the TPS.
IMO a PCM could be replaced as a plug in as long as it is the same code and is programmed with "as built" data but the PATS will be a problem in any event without dealer help.
The key codes don't usually remain the same and need at least two key to complete the job.
The PATS need to be programmed as well because it communicates with the PCM and will normally inhibit starting as it is supposed to do, when there is a match problem.
We can give you all this info but if it can't be excuted, the truck becomes an expensive fixture in the middle of a jungle.
Good luck.

So is it a must to 'flash' the memory???
Any dealer type people on here who could send the programing information to a UK dealer since we live in the age of the internet it can't be that hard, can it??? I have asked Ford UK for help but might as well be talking to BMW! (read brick wall)
All the specialist car importers I also talk too seem to not have a clue when discussing computers or electronic controlled throttles etc (read blank expression)
I will happily pay for any parts labour etc but my problem is finding somebody who's name is not Mr Ripmeoff
If it is a case of replacing the throttle body and all associated electronic gubbins hanging off the beastie then I will do that BUT is it the cause? (I have no dealer support what so ever)
I've now ruled out my idea of just replacing the PCM with a new one I have already had problems with keys in the past and dont want to venture down that path again
So im being a pain in the backside but help me please!!!!????
I HAVE NO DEALER SUPPORT AT ALL

You can try replacing just the TPS, see what happens.

A search found a number of shops in Liverpool that may work on your truck.
Two are FORMBY FORD TEL 01704 872 108 , Fairway Motors and M53 FORD.
There are others out of the area.
I would keep looking until I found a dealer that will work on the truck.
Just tell them you hve issues with the electronic throttle and codes that point to it.
You should be able to see the same things I see in a search.
First try www.allaboutford.com.uk. You will find a big list to work from. Where they are in relation to you is your decision to make.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I'm sorry to hear that. No reason for this position. If a shop has the Ford requied equipment to service with, there are no reasons they cannot handle your problem.
Make an attempt to contact FORD and tell them what has gone on.
Maybe they will make make an arrangement to help you out.
Try customer relations at 0845 841-1111. They are in Cov.
Good luck.

I have tried customer services but did not get very far the response was "oh you will need to find a dealer who is willing to do what you require sir" so I gave in
BUT I shall try again but this time with a positive attitude and see where I get!
Is the Haynes headache manual right? Do I need to replace the entire throttle and gubbins because it is a 2004 5.4 or can I just buy a TP sensor and bolt it on?????
Any body know if the TP sensor is a standard Ford part that is fitted to other cars etc??

Dont suppose somebody would like to spell out to me in what order I should sort this problem out remembering I do not have a dealer to go to?

Is the 'PCM flash' the first thing to do?
Do I replace the TPS?
Do I replace the throttle and all gubbins?
Could this be caused by voltage problems from the alternator?
Do I cover myself and everypart of my electrical system with dielectric grease and then shrink wrap the engine?
The latest calibration for the PCM anybody have a reference code etc to do with Ford for this so I can push this at someone on the phone in Ford UK?

Dont suppose somebody just happens to have the program knocking around or can liberate it for cash from somebody to send to me (cough cough) desperate man!
Please help the stoopid limey out!
