You sound like you really care about the environment. I'm sure you recycle all your plastics and glass that you use, and I bet you've never smoked you tires, and you sure didn't cut down any trees to build your house!

Oh, and you know what lots of that used oil gets used for? They sell/give it to road paving companies and they dump it on the ground to make a foundation for roads, and they burn it in asphalt machines.
Oh Chester, Now ya went and threw the baby out with the bath water.

Im sure glad I don't have to pay any $2500 federal fines for not recycling my plastics and glass!

I'm glad my truck doesn't have to conform to emissions standards.

Well, Chester not real sure exactly where you are in South GA, however, as a GA POST certified police officer, many of us carry under vehicle mirrors that we utilize during traffic control checkpoints, and occasionally on traffic stops when the vehicle is too loud. Like I said I don't know where you are located but the Sheriff's offices in Sumter, Dooly, Lowndes, Taylor, Ware, Baker, Colquit, Worth, as well as a whole host of other Counties in the South Ga area have access to these tools. Personally, I may not stop you for something of this nature where I patrol, however, keep in mind that if you violate the cardinal law by P.O.T.P. they will sometimes look for other violations to really hurt your pocket book. So, be careful and drive safe.

My truck is quiet. Removing the cats gave it a deeper sound, but it isn't even noticable to anybody except people that really know what a stock f-150 sounds like. If you really live in south Georgia like you claim, you already know the kind of clunker vehicles on the roads here. I don't think I'll have any problems

Ok at first I really didn't give a damn about what you were doing but now that I have read this I see a bit more ignorance then originally. You see the examples you are giving are not the same and in essence you are comparing apples to oranges. Maybe, no one here recycles all of their plastic and glass, and yes maybe a great deal of that oil goes into the manufacturing process of asphalt, which by the way, when complete can not get into fresh drinking water sources!!! I understand that you may not have the money to replace the cats on your truck, and for that I'm truly sorry. I really wouldn't mind if that was the only issue here but it really seems that you are trying to defend the mentality that it is OK to just pollute the earth. I'm very conservative and absolutly despise the "Greenie Weenies" of this world, however, I enjoy hunting and fishing and I really would like to be able to eat what I kill/catch. People that do the types of things that it seems that you are defending hurt the very hobbies that I love. I want to be able to pass on the traditions and knowledge that my father taught me to my kids and if we sit back and act like these types of things won't hurt wildlife and ultimatly us, then we are doomed. I may not ever write someone a ticket for missing cats but I promise you that if I ever have the opportunity to ARREST someone for illegal dumping of dangerous chemicals I will stack every charge I can find. It is a crying shame that we still have people in this world with a mentality such as yours.

I didn't say I live in south Ga, if you look at my name you will see where I live, I just happen to have many friends that I went to the academy with that are from your area.

I have never dumped any chemical of any kind on the ground other than fertalizer and pesticides, and i used them in accordance to the directions provided. This guy was singling me out and giving me a hard time about breaking the law, when obviously, it's illegal to race and that seems to be the most prolific topic on this site. He then accused me of polluting the environment, and added the comment about dumping wastes on the ground. You may play outdoors, (go hunting and fishing), and I do too, but more importantly, I make my living with the land and it's not something I'm gonna go dumping waste oil and toxic chemicals on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU ACCUSE!!!!!!!!!!

And I don't think that removing the cats from my worn out truck will ruin your hunting and fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with you here.... I went through this same thing when I had my cats removed and talked about it on here . I just dont think its something that everyone needs to get all bent out of shape about. There are many corporate companys, etc. that are polluting the enviroment much more than your truck... I just dont think this is a valid issue. You removed your cats, so be it. There are worse things going on in the world to be angry about

If you search on this board you see that you have not been singled out. I have posted before that removing emission controls is not legal for those who honestly don't know its illegal. I would rather give someone a hard time that see someone do hard time.
I suppose you are going to keep your vehicle for life as it might be inspected during a trade in and some of those folks have to fill out paperwork for the EPA when violations occur. Of course you could call the EPA and ask if there is a reward for reporting a violation. If you get a $5000 reward and the fine is only $2500 then you have $2500 for new cats!

Come on Chester, give me some more buttons to push.
Aye Captain, I dinna think the engines can take it. Shes gonna blow any minute.

Just so you don't think you were singled out.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ight=emissions

This street racing started back in the 50's I think and a lot of folks (including innocent lives) got killed in the process. Tracks and such were created to try to get this folks who are obsessed with it off the streets and into a controlled environment so that less lives would be endangered. (Kind of the "if you wan't to kill yourself, do it here" mentality). When I grew up folks had taillight switches so they could switch off their tail lights when the cops would follow them down the dirty country roads. (This is Kansas). The cops could not see much of anything but dust and had to slow down a whole lot.
A person would just pull into a field and shut off their lights (and the dust would travel a ways down the road. The cop would go by and then they would pull out of the field and head back in the direction they came. The cop of course would have a difficult time turning around on one of those country roads unless he got up to speed and did a 180. The other option was to spend a lot of time going forward and backward to be able to turn back the other direction. Police enforcement and public opinion got to the point that daddys had a hard time getting their kids out of jail and the street games ended pretty quickly.

If any street racing occurs in my neighborhood then you can bet they will get some fines or spend some time in jail. I just hate having to show up in court all the time when I help the police put these criminals in jail or prison. Sometimes I get supenoed and have no choice but to appear in court as a witness.

I had to have those inspections in Indiana when I lived there (for a while). In a way Im glad I don't have to have them done here in Kansas.

You're all right temp1. Seriously though, is it that big of a deal? I know the dealerships won't cut them off, but muffler shops will. I would think that a lot of muffler shop owners would serve some jail time if it was a big issue.

It's probably a matter of where you live. It's very rural around here, so as long as you have a tag, you can get by.
