Who has the most miles on their 5.4L f150's? That is on the original engine without overhauling it. AND what kind of oil did you use???

I have 99,000 on my 2000 5.4. I have used Motorcraft 5w-30 oil & filters the whole time. Replaced plugs at 70,000 and had the fuel-injectors cleaned at 80,000 runs as good as new.

Well, I have 139k on mine right now, bought it with 96k on it a few years ago.

I cant tell you what was used before I bought it, but it didnt have any leaks or anything like that, didnt use oil, valve covers real dry as can be.

I've been using motorcraft 5w20 and FL-820S filters with good results (change every 3000 miles). Oil always stays at about half way on the dipstick. I once couldnt find the MC oil so I bought 6qts of Mobil clean 5000 5w30, and I had to put in about 1/2qt or so at 2500 miles I believe it was. I was a litle worried about it, but since I went back to MC 5w20, no problems with usage.

I have a 97 5.4L with 213,000 on it. The only thing changed in the engine compartment other than plugs, air cleaner, battery, and one COP due to plug blowout at 92K is the alternator (twice). Use Mobil 1 5w30 since about 30K

That's a lot of miles biff150. Good job. That tells us Mobil 1 is good stuff. I wonder if anyone else has gone this far on regular 5-30?

I have 160,000 on my 97 F-150, and I've only replace spark plugs, battery and an alternator. I use the cheapest 30 weight oil I can find and napa oil filters. I do, however use a motorcraft air filter. Still runs the same as it always has.

I know someone who has tipped 400,000 on Mobil 1. Of course the rest of the truck needed attention, but the engine was running like a top.

Chester

I get a good price on the Mobil 1 from Sam's Club (between $22 and $24 for 6 quarts over the years) and I use a Motorcraft FL820s oil filter. I put in a K&N air filter at about 36K. It has been in there since. I've cleaned it twice. The motor runs smooth as silk....... The rest of the truck has held up well also. Here is the truck yesterday @ 213K.....
