fuel pressure regulator ?
HI!... Are you trying to install a adjustable FPR on to your existing fuel rail? If so the "99" and up 5.4 fuel rails have a welded on non-adjustable fuel regulator. You will have to get a fuel rail off a "97" - "98" 5.4 or some earlier year 4.6 Mustamgs. They use a bolt on non - adjustable fuel regulator. You simply un bolt the one and bolt on the other.

Here's a link to where I got my AREOMOTIVE billet adjustable FPR.

In the 2001 service manual it says to remove the snap ring and remove the regulator no spacific details it must pull out I feel the orings are probably causing it to stick in the bore. I know when I changed my injectors some of the orings were stuck in the fuel rail and I had to use a hook too; to remove them, you would have thaught they were glued in there. for reinstalation the manual says to lube special O rings with clean engine oil and reverse the procedure. Hope this helps.
