Engine Shapmoo...
So...
...it sounds like the bottom line is...Do it carefully. My plan was to get under the hood with a good gegreaser like GUNK and rinse well after that. I should avoid then getting too liberal near the coil packs, alternator ans plugs....sound reasonable?
Yup
Hi Mini;
Yep - *careful* is the mantra.
Low pressure water, only as much as is needed to rinse.
I use Simple Green myself - Gunk I find is needlessly caustic. If you do this job regularly, you don't need an agressive agent.
Also beware as indiated earlier - power distribution box, air filter ( if an open type), and that rat's nest of wires beside the battery. The connector for the ECM lives behind the battery too.
Good luck. Nothing like a clean and shiney engine compartment!
Cheers!
