CHIT! I kilt Mah truck! HELP!

So I had the bright idea to change my oil pressure sending unit on my 01 Screw 4X4, what a PITA. Anyhow I got the old unit out, and the new one in but now the ole girl won't start. Cranks hard, no sparky, well it won't catch. I think I may have gotten oil on/in the ewsendign unit. The electrical connector is clipped in place firmly. WTF did I do to my beloved F-150 and more importantly, how do I unfawk it?

Okay, I checked all of the fuses and they all seem to be okay. Nothing else is or was unplugged. Currently the truck is sitting there (No kidding right?) with the Neg battery cable disconnected and the headlights turned on.

Just reconnected the battery..no dice. I THINK that the theft light was staying on, but I was trying to read the codes too. Any ideas? Anyone?

ETA: I got it...I'll explain after I drive it for a bit and get a shower.

Okay, here's the deal. Had the oil changed today and while that was going down I went across the road to the Ford Dealership to buy a oil pressure sending unit as mine has been acting up (Wouldn't read the pressure while cold). Came home and said's to myself 'self, we're gonna fix dis'. So I commence to looking like a primate fornicating with a fusball and succeed in not only getting the old unit out, but also a wee bit of fresh (Less than 5 miles) full synthetic oil on the driveway. Plug the hole with my finger, use the toes on my bare feet (yes I'm half monkey) to retrieve the new unit. We're in business, kinda. Get the new unit started, lay head smack dab in the middle of the oil puddle, what fun. Since the wife was in the garage doing laundry I said "hey honey, can you bring me my keys please'. Ever the one to please she brings me her keys. Okay cool, that'll do. Hop in, turn the key, crank crank crank, *****!! Crank crank crank. Disconnect battery and wait, connect again and crank crank crank. Hop on F-150online and start a one man thread. Eventually I puleld the DTC 9600.

Last month my wife lost her keys, original Ford key fob and original Ford key. No problemo, on a trip to Homey Depot, I got new copies of everything made for he. In fact the truck key looked identical to the one for my 97. Long story short I had the wrong effin key. The key for my truck had the embedded chip for the anti theft device. Once I went and retreived MY keys all was right in the world again. Whew.

Glad I could help.

My wife disagreed when I told her that maybe it was GOD's way of telling me that I need a Supercharged 5.4

Please start a thread in the Supercharger section......write about your journey as you decide which supercharger kit to buy and then write about the install......and don't leave out ANY details. It would be very popular and we need some comic relief in that section! Those guys get too serious and nuts over a hobby.

Patience young padiwan. I just bought a Milwaulkee 1/2" drive 8 Amp drill from Home Depot. I am sure that you'll either read a post by my, or of my demise shortly. I'll see if I can dig up the plumbing thread from pre-ban.com. I still have not lived that one down. Who knew that a 45 year old pipe would break off IN THE WALL and that I would not be able to turn the dagged blasted water meter off. 1 hour of bailing HOT water before the plumber showed up. Friggin lil ole pipe cost me $130.

Then there's the Cheekan story, but alas that one was lost in cyber space, never to be seen again.
