My friends dad had bought a chevy dually, brand new from the dealer. needless to say, he traded it for a gmc dually about a month later because of problems it had. Well he had the gm for a month, and is already having problems.

I'm not saying chevys or gm's are junk or anything, but it isn't right for all these people dissing all the other companies because of their experiences with one or two trucks. Personally i like em all, i like dodges idead for style, with the chrome rims and the hemi, and some of the stripe/paint jobs. I like most chevy's though i never liked the new chevy's grille. For ford, i like the quality, and i like the style of the truck. I have driven in all, and found the ford to be a little more comfortable. I'd have to have owned a chevy or dodge for a long period of time and have driven the hell out of it to really tell if one or the other was really better, but i'm gona have to stick with ford, It's just the way i feel is best for me.

Now wait a second. I know you guys with the blue oval flow blue blood and the bowtie guys are the same. But lets be fair here. Chevrolet makes a good product. Im in iowa and i see both chevys and fords at construction sights. In the lumbar yards and in the parking lots. My bos has a trailblazer the seals are bad on one door and he keeps burning out turnsignals. We also have a 96 superduty which in the last 1000 miles had to get the transmission replaced and a new turbo put in for the diesel (not cheep) Now we haul boilers in the thing but it has 200 thousand. My f150 has a crack in the manifold that i sealed with sealant. I had a malibu that burned up turnsignals. No company is perfect fellas. It really is about 50 percent factory and 50 percent owner. Most people who buy trucks buy them fairly new so if there is a problem then take it to the dealer and let them fix it. Some day the working man might tell a truck company exactly what they want. As far i was concerned trucks were fine until people started useing them as family cars putting dvd players and air ride systems. A truck is a truck that is what it is designed for. So to all the haters out there. You might hate chevy but remember what chevy has contributed. 60s camaros, corvets, and dont forget olds, pontiac. There are some bowties that would cream blue ovals and there are some ovals that would cream bowties. I guess my point is this.....

CANT WE ALL JUST GETALONG

BEN

i would say its all about luck these days and maybe the day of the week the truck was built. i have friends that have had problems with all 3 brands. ive have had all fords with the exception of the wifes 03 suburban. would have bought the expedition but there was no comparison.

i think most of the blame for bad experiences with vehicles has to be laid on the dealers. sure the manufacturers build them and may screw up but if the dealers did their job right there would not be as much hatred towards the truck.

my 04 screw has 16000 miles on it and just had my first problems a week ago. took it to the dealer for repair and was so pissed i didnt even want to drive the truck. i realize my mistake was the service dept that i took it to. i took the truck to the dealer that i bought it from because it was close and convenient. past fords that i had i bought were purchased from a dealer 15 miles away. i shoudl have bought this one there but because this one is so close i would cruise the lot on the weekends (when the sharks, i mean salesmen were not there) and spotted the truck i got now.

It's the luck of the draw. I have a friend that swears by Honda. His outboard, lawn mower and now he is on his third Honda Accord. He keeps telling me that he can't kill them. My other buddy bought a new Civic a few years ago and wont ever buy Honda again. His rusted so fast, used oil and was in the dealer all the time. Too me, it's just LUCK. I had a 93 Astro van that I wanted to drive off a cliff with a certain Service Manager strapped to the roof. A Z28 that ate camshafts, Grand Prix that went through Starters and alternaters, Cutlass that leaked everything etc etc. Good luck with your Chevy, you never know, you could get a good one.

Show me one motor that compares to any of these ftlb to ftlb.
And I will show you a monkey driving a chevy.

The only motor you mentioned that is worth speaking about is the 327 but remember the stock fuelies head would not allow brackets for the power steering pump and they where inclined to heat up quickly. when you installed the pump you had to modify a bracket that was prone to slippage due to vibration .If you put then in with a power glide three speed you could be sure you would never exceed 6500 rpms for long or you would be sitting in a puddle of anit freeze water.
