fuel injector cleaner

can you use to much injector cleaner? most of the bottles say "treats 20 gallons". and i have seen less than before. would it hurt if you used 2 bottles? dont want to do more harm than good.

you can... god knows ive done it... but you must also understand that it puts a strain on the motor... you also have to remember that people put those bottles in little honda civics with REALLY small tanks... generally under 15 gallons... and since your truck is at least a 25 gallon tank, two should do the trick, and you should have some really sparkling injectors

go with the LUCAS product

mine has almost 200k on it and the Lucas stuff makes a difference in minutes. I run it every2 months or so . In fact I buy the large bottle to treat 100 gallons and keep it in the tool box and just add it every now and then whenI am filling up. It costs 7-8 dollars for the large bottle at O'Reilly .

Yes, you may just be wasting the product if you use too much. It's not like your are pouring in a gallon of the stuff.

yeah, but you have to remember that it is concentrated, and designed to be mixed with gas... so adding 2 bottles will give you a much higher concentration... think of it like this.... you have a dirty carburator.... which is better to clean it with... a spray bottle holding 10% cleaner and 90% other? or 40% cleaner and 60% other? other being water, and other chemicals that make up the actual "cleaner"..... same with a gas tank... having a 10% mixture, vs a 40% mixture of cleaner in the gas, is going to have a much higher effect..... (of course these percentages are false, and only for argument purposes) i would much rather have something with the higher concentration level... or you could just put in 1 bottle, and only fill the tank up a little more than halfway

Hey, are'nt you a big time post *****?

I agree, I do that myself. If you want to get it good and clean, the more the better. It is a law of diminishing returns though. It's like using too much Dawn to wash dishes. Sure you could have used less, but better to have suds left than to not get the dishes clean.

All things in moderation... hmm... I'm a moderator... wonder how that relates in to this equation.
