A bad battery will not charge on an external charger... Have you ruled out the battery? What is it's resting voltage? Corrosion, and build up on your battery terminals and cables? It's not likely you blew all your fusible links and fuses at once!

Please explain crossing your solenoid over - I don't follow.

the charger reads 5. crossing the cylinoid with a screw driver to make it fire. the battery has new cables. does the alt. have to have a ground wire ran, or does it groud itself out when you hook it up to the brackett.

Take your truck to Autozone or someplace like that and have them test the battery and then have them check the alternator. What kind of truck do you have?

Same damn thing happned to me 2 weeks ago. I took off the altinator and went to the local parts store (took the battery too) and had them check it. They said it was fine then checked the battery and said it was fine. Went back and put everything back on and Ill be damned the truck started right up. So I suggest making sure all the connections and grounds are good. I hope this helps.
