6.2L for F-150 dubbed Hurricane?
"Rumor has it that Ford is working on a 6.2L V-8 for the F-150, dubbed the Hurricane. It should have enough power to blow the Hemi and Nissan into the weeds. The engine is at least a year away from showrooms. but it will likely find its way into SD trucks.

The 6.1 Hemi was rumored long before the hurricane. A bore and stroke of an existing motor isnt much of a "redesign".
Ford had to build a from scratch motor, the cylinder spacing on the 5.4 didnt allow for them to make the engine much bigger.

At any rate, has any rumors been thrown out on how much HP/Torque the new 6.2 will make or when it will debut? I thought I read on here a few weeks back it was going to be around 350.
If Dodge follows up with 400+ HP in their new Hemi, we may not see quite as much dusting off into the weeds.

i heard from an inside source that ford is coming out with the 500 hp lightning to keep up with the srt-10 but it will still have the 5.4 but it be using cold air forced into the intake via the a/c evap but it will will only be usable every 10 secs or so. anyone else heard any other strange stuff about this?

i would be more intersted in a small diesel than i would a 350 hp 6.2. with my current 5.4 getting 13 mpg i really have no need for a half ton truck that get 11 mpg.
ever wonder, if an aftermerket electric fan frees up 10 hp and gets better mpg. and the hemi ask for 89 octane.
seems like they could offer a hotter 5.4 that make 15 more hp via a more aggresive tune for 89 octane and electric fans. seems like that would be cheaper than staring with a clean sheet of paper on a new motor.
either than or do like the old day when you have 2 or more hp levels for the same motor. take the current 5.4 install a shorter runner intake, more aggresive cams and offer a 325 version of the 5.4 that make power higher in the rpm range like the chevy and dodge. top it off by offering a 6 speed with 4.10's
