As long as there the seal on the container it has to up to federal standards. However, I never had luck with it. I found it just disappeared quickly. No leaks, it was just gone. I would rather go with a Penz or something for low cost dino. Halvoline has been found to be high in Zinc, bad for emission systems if its a loose motor. Just stick with something in the right weight and get a decent filter and you'll be OK.

Take it easy guys.... he's asking about a specific brand, and the experience people have (had) with it.

I was thinking of trying their 5w30 Synthetic myself. Walmart has a very good price on the stuff, and if it works well, could save some maintenance cost over the long run.

Bottom line is if it meets the required specs then you are ok. For the pennys difference I would go with the MotorCraft at Wally World and relieve all doubts

Yeah, I've used the Wally World oil and Fram filter, seem to work fine, at least 364,000 miles fine('88 F-150 5.0). Didn't ALWAYS use the Wally stuff, Wally World's only been in our area for about 6 years. But I did use the cheap stuff before and always a Fram filter. I occasionally tow the camper in the summer, and some wagons on the farm with the truck, all I have now is low oil pressure, small oil leak, (probably the gaskets I've never changed ) I'm very satisfied with it, especially knowing know that I've saved quite a bit over the years by spending quite a bit less. Anyways, my point is, I've had good luck with it, never really had BAD luck with any oil though... well, with the exception of that Kendall stuff.. There were lumps in it once when I used it in the lawn mower, so I figired, no more of that!
