Just curious.........how many times have you changed your spark plugs? I only have about 81000 on mine, but I'm afraid to have my plugs changed, and have some moron who hates doing them do a half *** job when doing the rear plugs because he cant get to them real good. Knowing my luck, they wont torgue them down and I'll get the dreaded PLUG BLOWOUT !!!

I grew up in Europe, was not driving then but last I remember there weren't too many long stretches of roads, just a lot of trains. "Inter-state" driving is pretty much nonexistent. Thinking back to my 2 trips back to Chicago last summer, I put on 2,500 miles both ways on each trip. That's 5,000 miles in 4 days. I think Alamo lost some money on this one LMAO.

spark plugs

I changed the plugs @ 39,000 (when I got the truck) just for grins, then @ 110,000 - 200,000 and then @ 290,000.
Have had no problems with them being changed - just pick a reputable mechanic.

altho the truck ran just fine, i changed plugs and wires on my 97 4.6 at 102,000 miles. At that time though i had a 90 mile a day commute so the plugs may not have lasted so long if used on short city trips. When changing plugs, suggest you also change the wires. And when it comes to plugs and plug wires, i only use ford motorcraft (not autolite) even though the motorcraft parts do cost more.

Shell/Pennzoil/Quaker State is no longer the producer per Shell corp.

Analysis of the oil will show it to be identical to Mag 1 or Spectrum.

Sorry...

oil

Sorry Gopher -
Like I said - I don't really care who makes it - I will stick with it. Your source says Shell - Mine says Quaker State. Get a life!
