A 4.6L isn't near that much is it?

Would It be possible to throw in a 32V 4.6L Cobra Engine in there?

Are there any other engines that would be that clean of a swap?

What about the engine thats in the classifieds right now? Its a Lightning engine. Would that be possible without shelling out a ton of money on top of the price of the engine?

Why not just go for it. If it doesn't work you can always brag you were the first LMAO.

I would do it if I was positive on what I was doing and had a lot more knowledge of engines than I do. I would have to have the work done in a shop.

It's possible but you're looking at having to get a lot of stuff...

The best bet would be to start searching for a wreaked truck that you want the engine out of and then grabbing the drivetrain out of it. Engine, tranny, computer, sensors, etc.

You might want to try a mustang site I,m sure someone has mod.
a mustng by now.
If you don't find anything there and you don't want to reseach
what you need your self. Just drive it to ford or another shop and for a couple hundred they should be able to give you a parts list.

Yes, I know about the supercharger. I was looking for an engine that had a little more to work with.

I know for a fact that you can interchange our engines(or even a built one)

All you would need is the proper brackets.

And how do you know this for a fact? By brackets, do you mean engine mounts?

check car-part.com

You can find 97- 03' low mileage f150 4.6 or 5.4 engines with everything you need from around $1200 to $1800. Good luck.

Can anyone verify that a 5.4L or 5.0L V8 would work in my truck as long as I had the correct harnesses and engine mounts?

I am confused because above I was told that only the 4.6 would work.

I dont think they make the 5.0L anymore.

As far as my limited knowledge of the engine bay and the engines themselves go, going by just what I have seen on these boards:

I have seen several threads about swapping the 5.4L into 4.6L trucks.

Therefore I would *think* you could put a 5.4 into your truck if you can find kits to make the 4.6 work. It would be more expensive obviously, also, the 5.4 may be too big...although that doesnt make sense in my mind because I think the trucks are basically all the same (as far as the size of the actual truck and the frames and so on).

But I would wait for someone who really has more experience shows up.
