60-90 Mph?!?
I was driving home last night from fort lewis Wa, to portland Or,
about 200miles, and it was late, the limit is 70mph i was cruzing at 75 at about 2100 rpms, and would accosionatly have some one come up behing me and want to go at it, i guess its the flames?!? I just dont really gun it from 60-90 very often, i drive in town.
It does pretty good, but the 60-90 is way slower than the 0-60 if you know what i mean. I mean i could be up at 4000+ and its just beraly picking up those mph, almost lost a couple of times, the last one was almost to a chevy
What can i do to increase the speed up there, any thing right off the bat?!?
Talley??? XLT Sport????? WrongDayJ????

I would suggest maybe upgrading the gears with a limited slip = more power to both wheels, although this maybe a bit too pricey depending on what you want an dhow much you're willing to spend.
Also, you may want to try an electric fan(I will be soon). This will definitely help acceleration and it make revving a little easier.
Those are th emods that stand out the most to be judging by what you already have.
Oh yeah...you might want to reorganize your signature so all the performance mods are together(Just makes it easier to find them )
ps. did you get my email?

No flaminig intended here...I just trying to explain my point. If I understand you correctly, what you're saying is equal to me pressing the brake and revving my engine to a higher level then letting go of the brake and accelerating...I may get a better jump, but the rate at which I accelerate will still be the same
With the 4.10s the engine revs faster therefore allowing faster acceleration...not just a higher starting point.
I hope I made sense and I hope I'm correct

Dood! Your freakin funny.
A Limited-Slip or Locker (like I'm getting) WILL Help at speed. Maybe not for him, but if he had a shift kit and superchip on top of that and gears he could spin a one tire easy.
For me in the 5spd I spin my right side tire about 8ft into 3rd! and about 15ft into 2nd. My Locker WILL help me go faster because it'll hook both tires and I will spend less time spinning and more time accelerating.
Lower Gears (higher numerically) will decrease your revving powerband time which will make your rev from say 3,000rpm to 5,000rpm alot quicker than you would have with higher (lower numerically) gears.

only 2100 rpm @ 75 mph? Is the slushbox's overdrive that high? I've got 3.55 gears in mine and i hit 2100 right around 65 mph. If what you've said is true, then either the auto is just geared quite a bit higher than the manual, or you've got a 3.08 rear instead of a 3.55. either way, the engine would be further out of the power-band than a manual, or a lower geared truck at the same speed.
if you want better performance between 60-90, gears are the answer my friend, either in the tranny or in the pumpkin, it's up to you and your pocket book.

Talley,
Speaking of freakin' funny, your reply is hilarious. Did you even read his post? You're talking about a relatively unmodified 6 popper with an automatic transmission spinning tires from a 60 m.p.h. roll. Get a clue DOOD (dude), or spelling lessons. Changing the rear end may give him a more usable power band but the engine won't rev faster. The engine will rev from 3,000 to 5,000 in the same amount of time regardless of the rear end's gear ratio. It's more important that he's in the right gear or at the right r.p.m. when he hammers it than the rear end's actual ratio. Assuming his auto kicks down as it's supposed or he down shifts properly his engine will rev. As I said before he would just be starting at a higher RPM or as you put it closer to the band. If you're talking about hooking up from a dead stop or low roll, gears and rear end would be a great recommendation but not at 90 m.p.h.
