97 4.2 F150 Coolant leaking into oil?

Hi Im trying to figure out why the antifreeze is leaking into the oil

Ok I ordered a new long block which came wth everthing new except had to transfer the Waterpump, timing cover, lower and upper intake manifold, oil pan from the old engine. Installed it and antifreeze was leaking into oil. So ripped out lower intake gasket replaced with another new one. Still antifreeze leaking into oil. Now did another check drained all oil out left oil plug out and just fill the coolant resevour up with coolant and without starting the engine up its antifreeze is pouring out the oil pan.what could be my problem?

Replace the timing cover gasket and upper intake gasket. Get the ones from Ford not the Felpro ones. Your issue is one that plagues the 97 and early 98 4.2s. The gaskets were made 1 mm too small so over time they shrink when the motor cools and this lets coolant leak into the #1 & #4 cylinder which can cause the motor to hydrolock. Do a google search on hydrolock 4.2 and you will find tons of info.

Ok but all the gaskets are new.

My question is with the engine off and the oil drain plug out when filling the coolant up how is it pouring out the oil pan?

A bad timing cover gasket could allow coolant into the oil ...

Pic from my timing cover gasket how-to ... A bad or incorrectly installed gasket could let coolant flow from the passages to the water pump into the crankcase.

Ok I ordered and new timing cover and new timing cover gasket set.

And I went to fill the radiator overflow with antifreeze and antifreeze is still going into the oil pan.

This is with the engine turned off not running.

Can anyone please help me out?

head gaskets?

headgaskets, timing, and intake are the only gaskets that touch coolant above or next to an oil passage

So when filling the antifreeze with the engine off and antifreeze going into the oil pan.

From bad headgaskets? Its a new long block

Could it be a crack in the block?

yes it could be a cracked block as well, or in theory a warped/cracked head as well

Is it totally new block, reman, or used?

Its a remanufacted block.

The heads were also remanufacted

Would that make a difference?

remanufactured has a greater possibility of human error than factory new
