Ecoboost 0-100mph Video

This just posted and he has a few other vids as well. I test drove the same configuration and what you see is what you get, I can confirm.

I think it's a little faster than my 98 5.4L w/272,000 miles on it. Not by much tho.

for a stock 6-cyl that isnt even broken in yet versus a modded V8, i classify that as a win

Who has a modded V8? I'm running the factory tune. Straying from that would be modded IMO.

It got to 60 pretty quick.

But after that, it kind of fell on it's face, IMO.

Still, 17 seconds for a fullsize 6 passenger 4x4 truck to get to 100 isn't bad.

I say that's pretty damn impressive for a 4x4 v-6 and being on a wet road.

Yea I classify a twin turboed v-6 outrunning a small block v8 designed in the 90's to be very impressive. It's still a nice powertrain option though, so i'm not talking degrading the ecoboost.

Do your boost launch correctly and you can really bring that time down. get those turbos up to about 50 psi at a stand still and let it go!!!

I'm pretty sure those turbos are running no where near that much boost factory. MAYBE 10 psi, each.

I'm really surprised the truck doesn't had a boost gauge. That would be my first mod after buying one. That and a wideband.

They push 12psi but only briefly as it tapers down early and quickly. Once the tuners get ahold, it will get more psi sooner, held longer, tapering slightly at the top end, typical tuning scenario. This will provide the HP to ramp up quicker and hold longer. The big question is going to be how well this motor can take the extra stress and if the IC will be sufficient and if it will heat soak quickly. Anyhow, it is surely capable of a little more power without problems and who knows how much before things start breaking. The tuners are doing some great things with the SHO.

I think WOT full boost is around 12-13 psi. The truck falls on it's face after 60mph from tuning. Look at some of the tuned SHO's on youtube. They all walk up to 120 no problems. This truck has bigger turbos, different intake and cams. The Hennessey tuned car breaks all 4 tires loose on a boosted launch and gets to 60mph around 4.5 sec. I think this one will be able to do it around 5.0 sec. or better with a tune. And 2wd launches will be impossible. This is some very exciting stuff we're going to experience around here, I can't wait.

I don't think it's the tune that has anything to do with you guys thinking it falls on it's face after 60. With 3.73 gears and great torque it's going to be quick to 60, but you have 5600lbs you're trying to push and you have a horrible drag coefficient in this high/big faced truck. I drove the same truck basically in this video and it still isn't slow after 60 considering it's a heavy truck. But I do agree that once it's tuned it will help compensate for those factors and be a little faster to 60 and slightly quicker overall. But hell it's a truck not a 1500lb lighter SHO nor as aerodynamic. With all that said I can't wait to see what happens as well!

Me neither. Everyday I see something new on the Ecoboost, the more and more I contemplate not getting a Fusion.
