Are you ready for some bad news? The power pullies that are available for the 4.2 only fit the 97 and 98s. Ford changed something on the later years so the pullies won't fit.

What changed between the 98 to 99 is the harmonic balancer. The 97 and 98 4.2s use a two peice balancer and pully, the 99 and up 4.2s use a one peice balancer/pully unit. There is an underdrive pully for the 99 and up mustang 3.8 but the balancer its self is balanced diffrent from the 4.2's balancer. It will fit onto the 99 and up 4.2 but it causes a massive vibration in the engine(experience talking, I already tried to put one on my truck). Hopefully ASP will very soon have an underdrive pully for the 4.2, but I wouldnt my breath.

It's too late for the 100 people. The pullies are already on their way. What I said about the 99-00 Mustang 3.8 pully would fit onto the 4.2 but caused a major vibration is beacuse the 99-2000 mustang 3.8L is externaly balanced by the dampner. The 99-new F150s are internaly balanced by the crankshaft, so is the 2001-new mustang 3.8L. Within the past month or so ASP has announced that they are designing an underdrive pully for the internaly balanced 3.8L/4.2L V6 engines. I have not herd of a relese date yet, but they are on their way.
