You want performance? A bigger engine? And a manual to boot? Try Mustang Parts Specialties. www.stangparts.com They have new 4.6L 2V and 4.6L 4V(oooohhhhh) straight from the GT's and Cobras. And they are resonable too. Trannys, they have them. I even think the cars can come with the computer once you specify the tranny you want.......I can just see a blown 4 valver in a reg cab short bed, stock rims, no tint, and a towin hitch............hmmm not a bad idea

Looks like those mustang drivers need to learn how to drive.lol. Those are really good deals on parts.Wonder how difficult it would be to adapt these parts to our trucks. Can those trannys hold up to towing? You could do all your motor mods before you install it.Cost effective?hmmm Now you got me thinking.Better add that site to my favs.Blown 4 valver sounds nice(fast). At any rate I can't do anything till tax return time.I will cross that road when I got the money in my hands.

I still want to see the expression on someones face when I tell them its just a six under the hood after I beat them. I just like the idea of doing things with I got. With a chip, supercharger, headers & exhaust, ignition, bigger throttle body (if someone ever makes one for us),gears, and a 5speed- you'll turn some heads.

Andrewfseries,
Having done alittle research on what Regulator brought up, I will NOT attempt any conversions. These v-6s have the potential to be real sleepers.I have a buddy that has a 5.4 ext cab 4x4 and he is always puttin down my motor. After these mods,I am sure that the only place i will see him is in the rearview.lol. I am definately gonna have to order those V-6 H.O. badges to put on when that sc goes on.
One more thing what gearing does your truck currently have?If you are 2 wheel drive and have the 3.55 you shuld be happy after these mods.I can't justify a gear swap in my truck-1K (gotta love 4x4s).Might have some traction issues with all this newfound power.

I'd only get another engine if I blow mine up.

My Multi year wish list is:

Solid front axle swap, 6 inch lift
4.56 gears, 35/36 tires
electric fan
headers
exhaust
supercharger ( maybe)
swap 60 /40 for cpt's and center console
over head safari rack ( for camper shell)
Ranch hand front end and rear bumper
Winch

Oh and some fuzzy dice

3.08's are a good thing right now....Have you ever had 80 extra horespower just pop up from no-where(well, it is from a silver bottle)? Traction is a BIG problem with these and trucks in particular. I have Smoked the tires through first and second after dumping at 3000. Third gear is a pile of rubber away with it on the bottle, imagine 4.10's! Even driving out of the hole gets hairy with that light rear end when the powershifts come up. Ahhh, well gotta go fill up my ballast tanks....

i was thinking about going with an older engine (73) ive got a 360 big block sitting in my garage. im hoping to blow up my v-6 to replace it with that, id have to really spend some time rewiring everything though and dropping the transmission mounts for that c-6 to fit, but otherwise, i think that would be a really awesome sleeper, a 450 hp bigblock in a truck thats already keeping up with the competition on only a v-6

I know what you mean.I had a hard time keepsing my 98 w/a v-6 hooked up when street racing.I can't remember for sure what rear end it had- either the 3.08 or the 3.55.

Forget Waiting on Christmas!
Is it January yet?

I'm gonna make the plunge and keep the 6 as long as I can. SO I need to do some basic mods, Headers, Exhaust, Look into Ported intakes and Heads. I guess I'll swap Injectors and then wait on the Supercharger to come in.

ANy more suggestions? I'm already thinking I need to order Exhaust ( gibson Single out)
and then I'm switching to electric fans.
what else?

That list sounds good.Pretty much the same things are on mine.I am not gonna do the electric fans though.I think maybe supersix motorsports is the way to go for our intakes(they seem more willing to answer questions,etc..)I don't know for sure about the power pack that they offer for our trucks. Replacing a cam is not my idea of fun.( two days in the shop)Maybe just the ported heads and intakes. The fuel injectors should wait until you get above 240hp at the flywheel.Too early and talk about a motor running way too rich.Mike Troyer said that they can program for all these mods.

You won't run rich with the larger injectors. The mass air meter has to be recalibrated and it sends a message to the computer for how much fuel to spray. The larger the injector, the more fuel that is capable, the more power that is supportable-see where I'm going? You will need too upgrade your MAF, and I would go ahead and put a larger fuel pump in with the supercharger. If you are going to be serious about modding your truck (a supercharger is well serious) going the distance to make you have enough support for your mods will save you in the long run.

Yes, I see where you are going, but last time I checked we have no upgrade mass air sensors available(unless you are gonna have them ready soon) Without the new mass air sensor the computer has to try and deal with the larger injectors?( custom burned chip should do the trick??)At any rate I was just suggesting holding off on the injectors until the hp dictates that new larger ones are in order. The fuel pump might come with the s/c kit.Alot of the blower kits do include one. I do agree about having the support for the mods. You can only make so many hp on those stock injectors and fuel pump.(btw will a lightning fuel pump work? it should bolt right in)

I"m trying to get ahold of some info on the 99-01 Mass air meters for the 3.8L. I think they should work considering all they do is measure the air and relay an electric current to the comp., and they would have the correct type of connection etc. There is probably more involed than that, but I think C&L could figure something out. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator would be nice too. I'm not sure if the chips can change the way the MAF is calibrated, if they can-that would be sweet. I would hold off on going bigger until you go big as well.
