It made me happy that they said that custom piping and fabbing could easily be done. The vortech for the 3.8v6 is right around 2 grand.I wonder how much the custom work would cost.Kinda makes me wonder that if it is so easy why doesn't vortech start doing it for us.

Is it just the tube that needs bending? Im sure it could be just bent at a local shop if thats the case. No other modifications need to be made to the kit?

I am not sure about what exactly would have to be done.I think the guy at rpm-mustangs would know know right down to the knats a**.
I also went to vortechs website.Apparently there are "thinking" about doin a blower for us.They have a survey kinda thing where you vote for a car/truck that you think needs to be blown. Our truck was on the list. You guys ought to go to their site and vote for our truck. www.vortechsuperchargers.com

Cool

Hey guys I'm new here. But it seems that we all have the same thing in mind, a little gofast for aur trucks. I've been looking at an electric S/C. It gives about 3 pounds of boost and runs off your battery and a switch behind the gas pedal. Not quite as paracitic as a belt driven S/C. also, will headers from a 3.8 fit? please let me know if anybody knows.

I am afraid the headers don't fit,but jba headers is gonna have some on the market for us in early 2001.

electric s/c. is there a website a person could go to and check them out?3lbs of boost is kinda low.on average superchargers range in boost form 6lbs all the way up to 12 lbs.But it would be better than nothing.
welome to the boards

I still like the idea of 8lbs of boost from a vortech better. If it gives the 3.8 65HP it probably gives the 4.2 75HP.

For those of you looking for "Xanman", he's still around, but *very* busy with his construction business, and that is why you don't see him around here for awhile, as between his business and his family, he's really got his hands full. Very nice fellow, by the way.

Yes, we tuned his custom supercharged 4.2 V-6 F-150 (as well as a number of others!), he's spent a good deal of time on the Superchips dyno getting it dialed in. We've gone thru numerous different boost levels & configurations to come up with the best-performing reliable package that still delivers excellent gas mileage for what it is.

Currently Josh is ripping off 0-60 times in the mid-6-second range at sea level, and about a second slower when he's home, which is at about 3500 ft. elevation, some very impressive numbers for a very heavy 4X4 v-6 F-150.
