Good bye V6

Well, got a good offer on my truck. Some guy at a contracting company is buying it for $13,500.00. It has 25k miles. Since the truck market is up right now, I'm able to sell it for more than I even paid when I bought it new in 2008.

I will be going with one of the new F150's. Reg cab, short bed, RWD 4.6 auto. Might have to be long bed as there seem to be a million of them. Not really a fan of them personally (no offense Manual). But I'll take what I can get and like it. As much as I hated the newest body style, they have grown on me. Probably because I convinced myself to buy one haha.

Almost did the wrong thing and bought a 2010 GMC Sierra 4.8 V8. Man, their prices are hard to beat and the 4.8 puts out about 50 extra hp.

I will miss my manual transmission.

Try and pick one up with the 3 valve 4.6. They give 5.4's a run for their money unloaded.

I like my truck... I don't forsee myself getting rid of it for a really long time.. if I even think about getting rid of it. I doubt I will. It's been running really well for the past few months since I got the problems ironed out with it.

I should now be quiet and shhh myself. I don't need no problems.

After a week of searching manly low mileage (under 10k miles) '09s, I've decided to just suck it up and buy a brand new 2010 reg cab short box 4.6 2v 4 speed auto (harder to find the 3v in the basic XL's) For a little under 17k out the door. Hard deal to pass. I'll definitely HAVE to replace those extremely ugly wheels. Though, I am pretty lazy so they might be around for a little bit.

I'm stopping by my dealer to pick it up in a week. It's black, and it's brand new. That's about all I know. I'm hoping it has the chrome bumpers, but I'm fine with whatever. A brand new truck is a brand new truck. Not to mention, I've wanted a V8 real bad ever since I rented one of these new trucks a few months back.

Pics to follow.

Thank you. And, let's hope I don't have a million issues as I did with the V6. However, the truck has been pretty issue-free the last few months. Drove it from FL to VT than from VT to AL and back twice. It was great... well, except for the lack of cruise control. New one better have cruise control.

They don't have any at my dealer. Honestly, I'd rather have chrome bumpers if I have the choice. The painted ones get chipped too quickly with rocks.
