Is 7 Quarts Too Much??
Hi
I agree...I just drained 1 Quart. Now the oil level is midway between the hash marks.
The garage lady said "well maybe the tech filled the oil filter then topped the engine off".
Looks like I'm back to changing the oil myself.
Thank you
Harry

And yes, that is one of the reasons I have always changed the oil myself in all of my vehicles. Good job on checking the oil level yourself and finding that out.

But the garage should have made it right. They should have drained the oil for you. The dealership did that to mine once. It's an easy mistake. The 5.4L V8 takes 7 quarts. The tech was probably just used to putting 7 quarts into all the F-150's.

Not to mention it will be one smelly v6 F150.
No it doesn't lol, unless ford made you one special (I doubt it). Or you installed an aftermarket oil pan , use a larger oil filter.
yes it does. ford made different types of dipsticks, you have to check via the FPN on your dipstick. like i said, mine holds 6-1/4, 6-1/2 would be a hash under my filled mark. Ford also recently changed the size of the FL-400S oil filter.
