Back at the dealer as always. At 18k the brakes were horrible. When applying at any speed over 20 mph, the bed would shake like crazy. Obviously some warped rotors or something along those lines. Anyway, they're doing all the work free because of a TSB. Even though I'm still under the bumper to bumper, brakes are for normally only covered for the first 12 months.
Indeed. The NBS V6 F150's seem to have their share of issues. Nothing that'll has left me stranded, but many little annoying things that should not be happening of such a new vehicle that's taken care of very well and never beat on.
I had to have my rotors turned around 20k also. But i also put 20's on it. Only other issue ive had out of my 06 is a relay in the ignition came loose and would ark not allowing me to turn the key with out minutes of wiggling. That happened 2x.
That and the annoying vibration at 55 that all these f150's tend to have. I think that its drive shaft.

NBS? What's that.
I own a very similar truck to yours. 07 six cyl. short box regular cab. With 3 years and 39,000 miles mine has never seen the inside of the stealership except for oil changes. Flawless in every detail. I read in amazement all the trouble you've had with your truck. It seems like it's one thing after another.
I have been considering trading mine for a '10. Probably another short box regular cab but it's been such a great pick up I'm hesitant to do that.
Boy, I wish you the best of luck in the future with the truck. BTW I really like the white on your truck. Mine's Pueblo Gold.

Also, another issue: However, I think this is the dealers fault. Last time it was at the dealer, they checked something out with the transmission. It turned out to be nothing. However, when I got the truck back it was making a strange rattling sound when pushing in the clutch. While it was in there for brake work I asked them to check. Today, I got a call saying, "we think something is in your transmission causing that sound." Did something fall in there when they were checking it out? Who knows. Weird, it'll be fixed either way.
I love my truck, but I hate all the issues it has. So far, this is what has been done on my 2008 with 18,xxx miles:
*new leaf springs on both sides at 5k - Leafs were creaking. At that point I had never towed at all and had never hauled more than 200lbs.
*something fixed in the steering column at 8k - Not sure what it was or how it happened. Light groaning sound and rubbing while turning.
*new a/c compressor at 15k - a/c was screeching. Maybe due to never using my a/c when living in VT?
*new throttle body assembly at 15k - Drive by wire is such a bad idea. Failed sensor or something along those lines. Intermittent starting issues.
*more a/c work done at 17k - Cool, back at the dealer. Screeching again.
*new lifters at 17k - I was told they were "rattling around." Maybe the dealer was slow and wanted to make more cash doing warranty work.
*engine hoist brackets removed at 17k - From what I've read, this is pretty common. Annoying rattle at idle.
*rotors turned at 18k - Also pretty common. Truck would shake badly when applying brakes.
*transmission work at 18k - Dealers fault, I believe.
I'm probably forgetting some stuff. My truck has been at the dealer so many times I have lost count.
Ranger81, I like your truck as well. Great color. I'm glad your truck has been issue-free. I wish mine was as well!

Wow..thats alot of stuff to fix on such a new truck. Twice for the A/C..damn..last thing I had to fix on mine was a new alternator a few weeks ago. Fingers are crossed for ya though..hope its trouble free in the future.
That is alot of issues for you to have with such a new truck. I have had mine in for the third brake light leaking. Just curious, does it ever seem like your rear doors rattle to much? Mine do, it's kinda annoying.
Yeah, so much work done. It's crazy. Seems like the better you take care of these things the more issues you have. It's never seen past 2500 rpms, full synthetic oil and an MC filter every 3k, always let it warm up on cold days, never haul anything, etc. The only work this truck has seen is when I towed a 5x8 U-Haul from VT to FL. I was very gentle with it. 99.9% of these issues were prior to that. I don't get it. I hope that since all of these parts have been replaced it'll run smoothly for a while.
I haven't noticed the rear doors rattling. I did notice the front passenger door though. had the dealer take it apart and has been fine since.

Maybe I'll just buy a new truck. I do not and have not owed a penny on my current truck (payed in full when I bought it). 2010 STX or XLT perhaps. I've just started to accept the newest body style look. The only F150's I've ever personally liked were the 2004 - 2008. No offense to anyone.
We'll see what happens.
