Question Mpg

Do you get better MPG with warm air or cold air? I guess what I'm asking is, does ambient air temp. with no other variables affect MPG?

Theoretically, no effect.

Warm air is less dense, so the computer will adjust for less fuel in the mix. You may need more pedal to get going.

Cold air will force the computer to adjust and add more fuel, but you won't have to put as much pedal into it.

It's a wash if no other conditions are involved, but that's not the real world...

So do you get better mileage with dry or moist air? I remember way back when you could buy water injectors to add moisture to the incoming air for better fuel mileage.

That was before O2 sensors and computer controlled fuel delivery.

Dunno how cold air affects MPG, but my truck seems more eager to go when the amibient air is ~60F
