How can I get more out of my 4.2L?

the recharge kit is only $20. it will last you for a year or more, even if you clean is every month. as for the filter, K&N sells these things called Prechargers/Drychargers. go on their website. under accesories, click on the last four options. they come in colors so you can match you truck.

o ok... i have seen them i think... there just like a sock type thing for the filter right? but wouldent that slow the air flow?? so you dont have to clean it alot then huh... how often do you clean yours?

do a google search and read up on it. it will tell you all you need to know. i clean mine usually bout every month, or after i come back from home(300 miles one way).

right now i have the gotts mod done, which i did notice when i did it (installed that baby in the lowes parking lot lol) but i want to get rid of the ribbed part. i was wondering if i could use those same rubber couplers and PVC wrapped in like an insulation or a painted with heat resistant paint and just run it to the big bulgy part where the filter is. would this help at all or hurt it? seems to be the basic principle behind the iceman air intakes.

yeah it will work if you keep your sensors all in the same place.

and if you have a chance post some pictures of the gotts mod! i was planning on doin this alsobut never did!

Would be easier to just buy an ebay intake. 60$ +/- Then get some High temp paint. Thats what I did to my mac, that and new couplings. Still cost less than a K&N intake after that.

those look like PVC couplings from lowes, if they are what size coupling did u use to attach the intake to the engine itself?

They are from autozone and I don't know the size but they matched the MAC ones so I bought them.

so the main time to utilize a gotts mod is when you have the stock airbox on there?? dont do it with a CAI?
